Anyone following the racing going on in the Med off Valencia, Spain ???
The semi finals are in progress with Team USA(BMW ORacle) v. Team Italy (Luna Rossa) and Team New Zealand (Emirates Team New Zealand) v. Team Spain (Desafio Espanol) .
Currently BMW Oracle is tied with Luna Rossa 1-1 and Emirates/TNZ is leading Desafio Espanol 2-nil.
BMW Oracle came from behind today at one point being 480 meters behind Luna Rossa but pulling out :20 win over Luna Rossa. Skipper Chris Dixon of BMW Oracle really messed up the start and was low and slow when the horn sounded while Luna Rossa accelerated nicely off the line. BMW Oracle made up the distance on the downwind run where they clearly have a boatspeed advanatge.
Emirates/TNZ is dominating Desafio Espanol.
