In the first picture it looks nice and coupe-ish. In the other picture it looks a little ungainly. In the spy shots they appear to have covered it in the wallpaper from Del-Boy's flat! Still, beats Holiday Inn green...

Prefer the new Mondeo.

Looks massive.. Omega sized?... better looking than the last one but still pretty ugly.

Why is it so big?

Because all the other cars are big too, i can't imagine any car maker to make a family car that is smaller than the previous model.

But for what purpose? The new Commodore is bigger and therefore requires a more powerful engine = more fuel to make it equal in performance to former, lighter Commodores. I just don't see the point.

For marketing purpose i suppose , it's a competition between different car makers, if your car has less space than the competitor, it looses points in tests. add to that, people aren't getting any smaller are they? :D

I do agree they are getting rather big these days, i've seen a comment that in general cars grow half a size in 2.5 model cycles.

I love it!

Very progressive design for GM, at first I thought it was an Aston!

Ford has just about brought out its new Mondeo, with which they hope to take on VW's Passat, Vauxhall are also following suit, thus both the new Mondeo and Vectra will be bigger in size compared to their respective old models, the difference in size isn't all that much though i would imagine.

As for that new Vectra, it will sell by the thousands, it will even walk out of the showroom whatver it looks like, they always do, and atleast Vauxhall is making an attempt at making something less boring than they normally do, i dont think i would buy one though, indeed if i were in the market for a new car of that size i would rather pay a bit more and buy an Audi A4 or BMW 3 series, or the best looking car in that class, an Alfa Romeo 159.
