WRC Pickems 2021

[Kradovech]

New year, new thread. I will sum up the rules in this post, the base is same as previous years. If you have ideas how to improve the rules , discuss it in this thread. The rules for this season will be locked with the start of Monte.

Scoring:
Points are awarded according to the table below.

In case of equal score, the win is given to the better prediction of 1st place. If that is equal then better prediction of 2nd place gets the win etc.
In overall standings the lowest scoring round of each player will be dropped, starting from second round.


Predictions
Predictions will be made either in a designated forum thread or an automated system on the forum, should we get it working later in the season.
Predictions have to be made using the format and rules described in the prediction thread. Predictions with different format will be disqualified because they do not work with the automated system.
Each driver can only be selected once - prediction 1 Tanak 2 Tanak 3 Tanak will not give you points for all the predicted positions.

DocMS takes the win with an amazingly accurate prediction. 6 out of 8 positions were predicted correctly - not easy to beat. Augury and EstWRC came close though, following in 2nd and 3rd position.

Difficult one this, lowest scoring round so far. Jcevc takes the win with a respectable lead in front of AnttiL. DocMS follows in third with a similar gap.

Overall
We have a new leader. Although EstWRC didn't get a remarkable score here, solid results from previous 3 rounds secure him the lead for now. How long it will last, we will see - AnttiL is climbing fast with 4 good results so far.

The system of having the worst result omitted doesn't work when all your results are consistently good :D When I eventually get a 20 points result I can finally use all my 60+ results :D

I will try to take alook at that, possibly during the weekend. A good point to make - my spreadsheet does not handle typos. I do correct the common mispellings of driver names, however I do trust you to spell your own name correctly :P

Well, ladies and gentlemen, this is truly a disgrace. Lowest scoring round by far. We should all take a deep look at ourselves... I mean, not a single one put Ogier as winner...
Anyway, lankey555 and Kaps are in first and 2nd with 39 points - a score that earlier in the season would have put you have way back in the standings but today its a well earned cause for champagne, cheers! Maui J. snuck into 3rd place with a slightly more accurate prediction than guys on 4th and 5th

And I as a Ogier's fan have put on both occasions (Portugal & Italy) Tanak at the top.....but we know what happened.....Tanak disastrous, Ogier taking almost full points.....

Does Pickems go by point scorers or actual Top10
(you can´t score points with NAT cars in WRC, only with RC1-RC5 FIA cars)

I would say it goes by the actual top 8 - we haven't really covered it in the rules but that is what seems intuitively right to me. This situation hasn't happened yet during "my era" of running pickems, so feel free to present for and against arguments. If there are no objections, I will go ahead with the actual top 8.

They are still there, under position 51. However I see that in Croatia you entered your name as Lankey, without the 555 in the end. So at the moment there are 2 separate "players" in the scoreboard, Lankey and lankey555. I will fix that for the next round
