People like to travel, some more than others. And it will open up again post Corona.
But if planning a trip, we could sneak i a day on a museum I would like to spend a day in; A museum that has rally cars as a part of their collection - Yes please!
This could be a part of a trip to a rally, or as part of a family trip (where you are not the main planner...), it is always nice to sneak in something just for you!
Where in the world have you been visiting and gone to a museum or personal collection that is open for the public, and that you can recommend to us?
Please leve links, and a few words on what we can expect if going?

Rallimuseo in Mobilia, Kangasala. Near the city of Tampere, and only 140 km from Jyväskylä.

Mobilia is pretty good, there is also another carmuseum near it. It is not as good though, but hey it is free so might aswell check it out. Most of the cool cars from Vehoniemi have been transferred to Mobilia though. Or atleast was when I last visited it.

Mobilia with Rallimuseo has an entry fee.
Vehoniemi is the second one you mean. Worth noticing it has no rally cars, but is free to enter and is a cool place overall to visit, a nice view from a tower.

Very interesting subject!
Back in 2010 or 2011 I visited The Spa-Francorchamps Circuit Museum in Stavelot, Belgium. There are mostly racing cars there, but I was very lucky to be there short before the Rally Legend Boucles de Spa, so there was an additional exhibition of such beautiful rally cars as Lancia Stratos, Porsche 911, Ford Sierra, Lancia Beta, etc. I spent great time there!
You can find their website at https://www.musee-circuit.be/en/Circuit-museum/spa-francorchamps-circuit-museum-txt.html

What this guy is doing? He is buying expensive rally cars like diecast models...:) Did not know that there is also Latvala´s old Evo 3 and Michelin Pilot Escort RS Cosworth both from Finland...

Yes are correct. The freemuseum I mentioned is Vehoniemi.
Mobilia has additional content along the rallymuseum. I just hope they would ditch those plexiglasscubes which are in front of some cars. Atleast the rallycars are free to see upclose these days.
But either way, Mobilia is a cool place and I really recommend it if you visit that place of Finland.

Not a museum, but a top (visitable) collection on MSI state-of-the-art motorsport company, in Madrid. Hats off to founder and owner, Mr. Teo Martin.

If you visit Riga (Latvia), Riga Motor Museum is a must. Situated next to Bikernieki Race track, it can be reached in 20 minutes from downtown by public transport. There is not much about motorsport but few really great ones. It is definetely worth a visit.

I would love to visit this place: https://www.fcaheritage.com/en-uk/heritage/places/heritage-hub
Unfortunately I don't think it has ever been open for public.

Old topic, but it is open for public. You need to reserve tickets in advance though. It is located in old Fiat (transmission?) factories in Mirafiori area. I visited in 2023 and it is great. There is also the Museo Nazionalle automboile in Torino which is also great.
Plus Torino just is great city to visit!

This one is nice aswell. The new location is miles better than the old one. Make sure to look on the calendar to see that the thing is open! We almost missed it when there was some private event for most of our holiday XD

There is also a small Museum of Minery and Motorsport in Walbrzych in southern Poland. It was created by Jerzy Mazur, who used to be an off road truck rally driver and competed in Dakar rally.

Worth mentioning is also Classic Remise in Berlin, Germany. It's not a rally museum, more like a classic cars exhibition, but you can also find some rally cars there if you are lucky. I was there in May this year and saw Lancia Stratos and Porsche 911.
Although it doesn't have much to do with rallying, it's worth visiting for sure if you like such cars as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Porsche, Jaguar, Maserati, etc.
