Not sure if this ghas been thrown out there yet. Now Earnhardt Jr is essentially a lame duck at DEI. Wouldn't it be interesting if the car owner points were moved from the #8 to the #15 to ensure Paul Menard a spot every week and force Earnhardt to qualify on time. After all, isn't Menard now the future of DEI? At the very least it would be an interesting power play.

If Teresa wanted to be really evil, she could strip the #8 off of the Budweiser car .....
like you say put the on #8 on Menard's car & make Dale Jr take the #15 Budweiser car .....
then Dale Jr would have to make the races on speed alone ..... http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/orn/00.gif
feuds sometime turns nasty & I think this feud is about to get interesting ..... http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/orn/00.gif

DE jr's currently in 12th place which would put him in the chase. swapping owner points could easily sabotage that. Might also burn bridges with sponsor Budweiser, which might affect the teams ability to attract a replacement sponsor.
Transfering owner points is also subject to Nascar approval. How well received would it be, screwing over their #1 PR poster boy?

Dale Jr screwed himself contrary to popular belief. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g202/gr8link/orn/00.gif
Once Dale Jr leaves DEI he can never hope to gain ownership of it. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

What does Dale Jr need DEI for anyway?
He has a huge new shop for JRM and has more money than he knows what to do with. He is alot smarter businesswise than some of you give him credit. IMO, the modest house he lives in is an indication that he is not one to just blow every penny he has on extravagant purchases. Doesnt he share ownership of a track with Ken Schrader or someone? Construction of his track here in Alabama is also underway. http://www.alabamamotorsportspark.com/
No telling how much money is brought in by his merchandise sales & appearances.
No...... Dale Jr does not need DEI.
That's going to be a very nice complex
How far is it from from your place
