I don't remember hearing this. But if Skoda works like WRC Factory teams, they will have two factory cars in Argentina, as they had two in Mexico as well, as the service equipment will travel directly from Mexico to Argentina.

The opening Super Special has been moved from city of Cordoba where held in recent year to the town of Villa Carlo Paz. The SSS remains at 1,9km in length so no change to total competitive distances. https://twitter.com/rallyargentina/status/976825809037119489 Crews will have significantly less touring to and from Service Park with this new SSS location, approx. 45 minutes less touring each way.
It appears this might just be a one year change as a result of work happening in area of the Cordoba SSS this year.

That map doesn't have a scale displayed but does it really take 45 minutes to get to the center of Cordoba from service? Okay, full screen shows the scale and it's farther than I thought but traffic must still be a nightmare.
It looks like a twenty minute walk from service to the super special now, which is nothing to complain about considering this rally's previous attempt at SSS spectacle

Distance from Villa Carlos Paz to Cordoba is not that great. Approx. 2/3 distance is good highways at open road speeds. Last part of trip from edge to centre of Cordoba city involves many intersections and lots of traffic lights, this was the part that requires most time. Yes it would be possible to walk from Service Park to the new SSS.

Yes it was true.
Ligato had announced retirement after getting last year national championship, and he used first rallies of National champ fr triaining for the Fiesta WRC. He also entry to last round of Southamerican Championship renting a Fiesta R5. He did the friday short superspecial, but was unable to start due to high pain and retired before starting on Saturday.
He had trained a lot, and his sponsors had sorted up the M-Sprt rent but his "dream" retirement was not feasible

I'm talking about guys like Østberg and Henning Solberg, maybe even Bertelli and Kremer, and also we must count Suninen into this category from 2017.
And since you're counting in 2016 WRC's, you must remember we had WRC Trophy last year with at least one car in almost every rally. Last year Corsica had two private hobbyist WRC's.

Making use of one of its homologation jokers, the team will release an upgrade to the car's rear axle that engineers at the team's Satory headquarters say will improve performance across a wider range of conditions.
"The team works tirelessly every day to improve and refine our C3 WRC a little bit more," Citroën Racing boss Pierre Budar explained.
"The new rear axle geometry introduced for this rally aims to provide even more consistent handling, regardless of changes in the road surface and therefore generate greater confidence for the drivers."

It might be that while Citroen is making the car more allround (ref. Breen in Sweden) Ford and Toyota are beating it in terms of pure speed (ref. Meeke in Corsica). I don't mention Hyundai as their performance so far this year is very inconsistent.

From PlaneteMarcus:
Evo engine on the i20WRC from Rally Argentina
Just like Citroën Racing with the chassis of the C3WRC, Hyundai Motorsport will burn a joker from the WRC Argentina rally with the approval of an engine evolution (distribution system) of its i20WRC.
Thierry Neuville, suffering from engine problems at the very end of the Tour de Corse rally, will take advantage of this improvement to try to counter the dominance of the M-Sport / Ogier package at the start of the season, which has three wins in four rallies. Andreas Mikkelsen and Dani Sordo will also be eligible for these new performances, but it will be until next month for Hayden Paddon (absent from Sweden) to find the tub of the i20WRC where the Korean team will line up four cars on this rally.

This development is a wanted target for FIA.
Cars are too expensive and to advanced to keep running without the data engineers!
Too bad. Rallying has always been the motorsport where privateers could challenge the pros on a good day.

so, Ogier hasnt had a win here and the last time Ford won this event was in 2002 with Sainz.
it will be very interesting to watch Evans performance with Michelins compared to last year, his starting position is basically the same (last year 9th on the road now 10th)
Lappi and Latvala have excellent starting positions to make a very good result but Toyotas reliability is a big question mark. Sordo and Breen have also a good starting pos. Remember Sordo had a very good performance in Mexico.

Good points EstWRC. It should be an interesting one. The question will be how much of a disadvantage Ogier, Neuville and Tanak will have after the first day. We might see a crazy result with an all second and third driver podium like Lappi, Breen, Evans. You'd expect Sordo and Mikkelsen to be strong but they have often put themselves into good positions just to mess it up later on. Meeke will either be pretty average or fight at the top and then lose it again. Latvala has something to prove. If there are a lot of casualties maybe Suninen can have a strong points finish.
I can't wait.

Reminds me of the "famous last words" from Citroen at precisely this time last year.
(Matton and Meeke said how the goal now was to win rallies and go flat out and not think about championship. 3 rallies and 4 crashes later Meeke got dumped for Poland.)

Even funnier is that before the season started he was going on and on about how he wants to emulate Ogier, not focusing on winning but just making the most of the events. A couple of events in and he does a 180. His inability of just sticking to a plan is further proof that he is mentally too unstable to be champion.

Yes it has been problema several years, specially in stages like today morning where thick vegetation and do not allow the wind to fly the dust away. Recently we had many years with rainy conditions, but dust is a problem. I have suffered it from spectator point of view many times. Higher stages like el condor are easy for the wind.

On my PC I have the WRC.com results page open (and eWRC) - a time comes up and it's over 30 secs until the driver finishes on All Live.

Neuville cant even make a decent time on the SSS.
Overall he is 9sec off the rally leader, thats nothing.

Only difference is that from SS2 to SS5 the current leader has been 9. with 23,7 behind the leader at that time.

I´m screenmirroring it from pad to tv...
That makes a lot more time lost.
On SS6 watching in Europe the delay of the live-image is about 55 seconds. All more is up to your setup and not wrc+

Every rally they fail to deliver proper stage times. And All Live thing crashing constantly... I think that they need to reduce their price until they fix all the issues. Like we are in 1980, they had better reception.

FRI 15:11 - SS6: MIKKELSEN
So Mikkelsen is in now and he's 39.7sec off the benchmark time in this stage - he is still 0.4sec ahead of Ogier. He says: "Front-right puncture, it was very rough. I was just driving the line like normal." A deflated Andreas in that Hyundai (no pun intended)
