I gave thought to abandoning this Rd in view of Homer's tragic news but I don't think Homer would want that. Instead I propose we dedicate this race to Homer & his daughter Lili.

Rd 4 Laguna Seca Race Details:
Length: 20 laps
Settings: *Free Set Up *No Cheats /boosts allowed *A.I. Hard *Pits Optional *Careless Driving & Cutting corners Off * No Qualifying - start at Front.
Handicap: There will be NO handicap this Rd.(but it will feature again)
Times: pm your O/T & F/L by Sunday week 13th May,midnight Aussie time.
Good luck guys!

Hey...just wanted to say thank you...i'm blown away by the PMs and comments in the other thread.

It really helps, as strange as that sounds. But please do not feel upset because I know dear Lili is now in a better place and at peace.

And yes, I want you to carry on racing!!! So gentleman - start your engines :)

Just a reminder that times are due in tomorrow evening for Rd 4 at Laguna Seca. Getting through the traffic from about lap 10 made it difficult. I wasn't able to get near my Qualifying time in race trim but the car was still quick.

I beat my qualifying time in the race but I just couldn't get near any of the times that some of the top guys were setting!

Only received 3 times so far! I will extend the due time until Monday night because of real_illusion's request. Good pts could be picked up by those that enter!! In hindsight I should have included the handicap system this race - looks as though some people may have decided not to enter because it was not in place this race - it will be in next Rd. We had 13 qualifyers - what's happened?

Ten drivers turned up for Rd 4 at the U.S circuit, Laguna Seca. The start of the race saw the shock demise of both Sloma & Muz - both drivers blowing their engines on the starting grid!!!(but what do you expect from a Ford??) This provided Vuko Snr the opportunity to cruise to an easy victory over U.K driver J.B. This is how they crossed the line after 20 laps:

9..AlfaFan(F)23m.18s.....12pts
10.C.Finch(H)25m.02.....10pts
Fastest Laps: Vuko Snr 1m.03.49...BobZee 1m.03.88...Vuko Jnr 1m.03.96...J.B.1m.04.63...J.Shell 1m.05.32.

Wahay can't argue with 10 points just for turning up. Literally.

Happy with that, slower fastest lap than Vuko jnr and Bobzee, but beat them on race pace. Traffic wasn't a big problem for me :)

wow

I have to say I'm pleased with that!

I had high hopes because I qualified pretty well here and my race pace was pretty close to my qualifying pace.

it really helped to spend most of my practice time in race mode instead of time trial mode. ... I just went to time trial mode at the end of the session to set my qualifying laps.

wow JB, good run... especially considering your fast laps weren't so fast.

better tire choice maybe?

Brown, Jon Brow

I found the car to be very responsive on hard tyres, I used 90%.

gosh, if we would have had handicapping this round I might've had my first-ever touring car podium.

still nice to have my first ever top-five though. I've really struggled in these cars - finished 11 out of 12 at Silverstone.

Miserable round for us. Our fastest lap was a 1:07.xx :(

Not very fond of this track, at least in it's sim capacity...

Looking forward to returning to Oz for the next round

ahhh yes, the Hidden Valley circuit.

don't think I've ever driven that one. better get practicing!

I did notice that the circuit has something in common with the toilets in oz - they both run the wrong way!
