Let's open a new thread

Meh. That the FIA are incompetent are nothing new. I won't bother.

You would also need huge spacers. Escort mk2 and Fiesta wrc width are very different things .

If you ignore the Historic. It was the same issue on the Likenäs stage on Sunday, and the same complaints from Ogier in 2016. Both these examples had no Historic cars at all. It is the same that happens with JWRC, 2WD and the slower 4WD cars as well.

Would it help to have the WRC2 start first on the road? I know that their track width is still different from WRC but would be still a bit closer?

You'd need the top guys only. Let's say the fastest 5-6 drivers, after that it's a bunch of drivers with less speed, and other lines, which would lead to the exact same complaining.

I don't have an issue with the driver already accelerating while the co-driver is still putting on the belts...but completing the stage with one of the top belts missing seems dangerous, but I guess and hope he just genuinely forgot to strap it and didn't notice until the finish.

Looks like another thing to report to FIA. Man, Tanak is on fire this year...

So I was only noting what Ogier had said... he's irrelevant?

https://www.motorsport-news.co.uk/news/rallying-news/wrc/ogier-controversy-prompts-format-change-calls/

As first WRC driver on the road, Ogier found the situation particularly problematic and was a distant 12th by the end of Friday.

“The ruts are 20cm narrower than my car,” said Ogier.

“Even in a straight line I have to fight like hell to stay on the road."

why you do this to yourself ?

Michelin Motorsport

195: The 2018 Rally Sweden winner @thierryneuville Neuville lost only 195 of the 9,216 studs he consumed during the rally

He must have had a terrible stomach ache if he consumed 9216 studs.

Nice try Michelin, but Pirelli still kicked your ass in WRC2.

He must have needed some iron in his diet.

Michelin are good only on dry tarmac. Frenchies just don't go out for testing in bad conditions.

Perhaps the jwrc and historic drivers should start to complain that their cars don't fit in the ruts that the wrc cars make.

Interesting hearing Petter Solbergs comments after Sweden on WRC+.

He was delighted with WRC+, but remained very coy about whether we will see him return to the WRC in a one off event again (even if it was just to be in the R5 polo).

Can hear the admiration he has for how calculated and clever Seb is, but also acknowledged that Thierry has been so fast for over a year now. He sounded really impressed with Breen too, and although it wasn't great from a Norwegian perspective, said Mikkelsen had no answer to Breen' s pace on what was effectively Andreas' home rally. Also led him onto the point that it's very difficult for Breen now having to miss rallies, when he'll be full of confidence and wanting to build on this performance. Certainly another one who wasn't keen on seeing Breen benched for Loeb, pointing out that Breen is the future and if Citroen want to put Loeb in a car, don't do it at the expense of Breen. Do it with a 3rd car or not at all.

I felt Petter was also a bit harsh on his brother ;). Saying he'd find it hard to do a WRC round like his brother, and be so far off the pace

As an explanation for Henning being further off pace than normal in sweden, he said that the engine had been cheating most of the rally, he had to nurture it for it not to die, and that he could not get full power out of bends, but had to gradually feed the power.
So something wrong the mechs did not figure out.

Even with limited testing, Henning would in normal circumstances be closer to the front in Sweden than he was.

He has given himself two weeks to figure out his plans for the season.
