He is celebrating his 26th birthday tomorrow. On Rallye du Var he had a WRC-Fiesta and has been in the Top10 before he finished the rallye caused by 'personal' reasons.

Before he drove BMW Z3 and a Porsche 993 GT3 mainly on regional rallies. I definitely see some potential.

The overall time differences in WRC2 are crazy. rally is over.

But I have to agree to Kremer. WRC2 was meant as a championship for privateers and teams. This year it will even get worse for real privateers if next to Skoda also M-Sport is stepping up with Camili and Suninens WRC2 campaign.

I would even go further and would not allow P1 drivers from the last some x years to enter in WRC2 like Mikkelsen this time. They can enter a R5 car, but not in WRC2.

I understand the argument, but if you take the works Skodas/Fords out the equation there is not much left.

It should be good comparison for the privateer guys.. if they can match the works drivers (like Sunninen did) then they know they are worthy of promotion to WRC.

It has the best parts and best engines in it.

I have had a special factory Engine once i was racing karting. It was increadable. It had all the best parts in it. And was legit but it was an engine with the least tollerances it gave just that little extra to be champion.

Such engines they keep for factory drivers for sure.

I am sure there is an element of that (mostly software?) but they can't afford to offer the customers too inferior a product as they also have to compete against the other manufacturers, and R5s are meant to be primarily customer cars.

Citroën looks like they are paying a big price in 2017 with their very mediocre driver line-up. "Krash" Meeke is back and Lefebvre and Breen haven't proven anything in their WRC-car runs so far. Matton really played the Ogier car really bad and they are paying the price now. It looks like it's gonna be a title fight between Neuville and Ogier for 2017.

ERC and TER is maybe better then for them..
