For what it's worth, these are probably the only "top 35" drivers not contracted yet for 2008:
31 JEFF BURTON
8 DALE EARNHARDT JR
40 DAVID STREMME
96 TONY RAINES
13 JOE NEMECHEK
66 JEFF GREEN
70 JOHNNY SAUTER
14 STERLING MARLIN
88 RICKY RUDD
These drivers will probably be retained on option years to their current contract.
11 DENNY HAMLIN
07 CLINT BOWYER
43 BOBBY LABONTE
18 J.J. YELEY
41 REED SORENSON
6 DAVID RAGAN

I think Burton and RCR are happy together too, but nothing is going to get signed until the AT&T lawsuit is settled and they're resigned or found a new sponsor is found. If DE Jr leaves DEI things get interesting. RCR has got to be his second choice. So does RCR expand to four teams? If not and the 31 car is without a big $ sponsor I think there's a small chance DE jr & JB swap seats.

Napa is considering leaving Mikey and going to the 31 or possibly the 16

I think that Nemechek is under contract for 2008 and am sure Sauter signed a two year deal.
I expect Sterling Marlin to retire at the end of the year (that was certaintly the plan) along with Ricky Rudd and Ken Schrader who will be replaced by Jon Wood and Ken will go to the truck series full-time in 2008.
Tony Raines will probably stay with HOF Racing who are looking at moving to a two car team in 2008.
I'd say Yeley could well be released by JGR as his results have been poor while Ganassi will likely retain Stremme. Don't be surprised to see Riggs lose his ride with Evernham also.
