Had a great check up today,I dont need any more echocardiograms done this year and no stress tests for at least 2 years, and no angiograms for at least 3 years, now the next thing is to work on the cholesterol and other stuff if it is high. Both docs have not said anything was wrong on that front but it will be looked at,so a great day for me,health wise.

Isn't that Robby's sister? I think I was reading something about her, but I don't remember for sure.

Yep, Robby's younger sister and I think she's still Ryan Hunter-Reay's girlfriend. She did some pre-race announcing for Champ Car a couple of years ago.

Who knows? Ya might catch Coach Joe in a good mood one day. :) Well, now that we know your heart is OK, here's a picture of Beccy Gordon for ya, before suiting up for the Baja race. Seems she's a pretty decent driver herself.

These ladies are serious racers.

http://www.allamericangirlracing.com/

snippet:

"They had four days to prepare for the 200-mile race in Primm, Nev. There were 100 entrants – all men, except for them.

They had to get the car painted. They were hoping for pink. Robyn went to the shop late at night and called the team in tears. "It's yellow!" she moaned.

They got pink lizards – the logo for SoBe – embroidered onto their silver racing suits. The sponsor, who missed his wedding anniversary, flew out so they could take him on a prerun. They made sure to wear braids to keep their hair out of their faces. And this time there was no makeup.

When they showed up to the race, they had an entourage of about 50 people – family members and friends and a television crew from New York making a documentary on them. They got noticed.

Somebody snidely remarked that they were Robby Gordon's sisters and wondered whether they'd make the cut.

"It was a little bit embarrassing, because we hadn't proved ourselves yet," Robyn says.

Heather was the driver at the starting line, watching the green flag.

"I was extremely nervous," she says. "I just remember sitting at the starting line. I was so afraid that I was going to stall the car. I revved the engine so high. Your adrenaline kicks in. Five minutes into it, I got my groove. It turned out it was awesome."

It turned out better than awesome.

They won."

Good morning!

Did anyone ever watch that show on MTV "Two a Days"? (Hoover, AL football team) Well, when we were in the pits during the Dega Busch race I seen a bunch of the coaches and started talking to one of them. (they had Hoover shirts on- thats the only reason I knew who they were because I never watched the show) I was talking to him because my son's team is playing them tonight in their Spring Jamboree game. I didnt realize until I seen a photo in the newspaper that the man I was talking to was Rush Propst, the head coach. My son thought that was so cool because he is like an idol to most football players around here. Anyway, my son is so excited because it will be televised on a major station and there is alot of publicity surrounding the game. He probably wont get to play much, if at all, since he is an upcoming Sophomore. The B-team game is just before the varsity game and he will get to play in that game.
Just wanted to share that. :)
I also have a class reunion picnic today so it will be a busy one for me.

Check out this pic I took this afternoon. I sent it to my favorite Meteorologist at a Birmingham ABC affiliate and he posted it on his weather blog. I feel so honored. :D Doesnt look near as defined & vivid here as when it is viewed full screen. Im thinking about having it enlarged and framed.

Just wanted to share this pic I took from my front porch Fri afternoon as a t-storm came thru. (most of you know how much I enjoy photography) I know it wont be as clear and vivid as the original photo since I had to resize it to post it.
Well, I sent it in to an ABC affiliate in Birmingham. The lead meteorologist emailed me back and said he posted it on the weather blog for that station. Saturday I received an email from a senior meteorologist with the National Weather Service asking my permission to use my photo for some upcoming presentations. Ironically, next week is lightning awareness week. (who knew) He said it may also be posted on the National Weather Service website and that I would be given credit for the photo. This was really exciting for me and just wanted to share it. :)

My badI didn't see MY POSTappear before I sent it again. At any rate there are always short cuts. A true mechanic knows these and a novice has to learn them. I see cat maechanics shorten the book time by knowing thier job thourghly. that to me would be a short cut.
also instead of refeering to the manual they know the part numbers when filling out the job reports.
I know the truth about lazy short cuts and job enhancing ones and every job has them.No offense;please.

Picture your typical middle-aged, white, and fat bloke. Yeah, him! Now mix in a little bit of self-hatred, an ego the size of Jupiter, and a pistol on his hip. This is the neighborhood security guard.

**** him! I was washing my clothes and the cut-off time is 10pm. I've lived here for a while and have never broken that code until now. Work, school, et cetera has been hectic. I barely see my home and snuck in a chance to wash.

Anyway, I was there at the dryers a few minutes before ten and folding away my clothes. All of a sudden...*slam* The fat man slams open a door and waltzes into the washroom. I acted as if I didn't notice the chubby ******* looking for a doughnut, I mean trouble. He walks up to me and says, "It's ten o'clock. I need to close." I looked at him and said, "When I am done drying." This dribble went back and forth, escalated, and I ended up making fun of his kids for having him as a such 'fine father figure'.

He followed me back to my apartment and I called him a ****ing asshole. He snitched to the manager and I laughed. Yeah, it was my fault and I apologized to the apartment manager. What had me rolling is that he was so upset and I had him entangled in the conversation, that not only did I manage to dry all of my clothes, but everything was neatly folded. :D

I'm not even sure why we have a security guard. Nothing remotely interesting ever happens here in little ol' Tustin and the COPS are some of the best in the county. Looking forward to our next rendezvous with this ball breaker and it should be fun.

Good for you Cindy, I know how hard it is to quit. I stopped 8 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did.

Keep it up

Before I actually stopped smoking, I could think of a million reasons to quit but I have this brain fog thing going on lately and can only think of reasons that I want to start back. :s

Hubby quit too at the same time. We were taking Chantix in the beginning but we both were having some bad side effects and stopped taking it after 13 days. My side effects turned a whole lot worse after I stopped the medication. What they dont tell you is that the side effects last well after you stop taking it and after doing some research, I found that some are actually permanent. Though it made it really easy to quit..... it made the cigarettes taste bad but also made me terribly depressed. I was able to quit smoking all 3 times I was pregnant and for awhile after each but I never experienced such withdrawal effects as this. The depression hit me right after I stopped the Chantix which was 3 days after my last cigarette. I could hardly function with my busy lifestyle. That was 3 wks ago and Im just now starting to feel like myself again. (I did mess up and had 1 cigarette that first wk)
Anyway, I would not recommend it to anyone and I am willing to bet that there will be a big lawsuit involving this medication. I think the FDA was too quick to release it.
I've been trying to find things to replace the smoking pleasure. Of course food was my first choice. I gained 13 lbs in the first 10 days. I havent gotten on the scales since. ;) I decided that I would deal with that when I feel stronger. I have started exercising more and going to a massage therapist each week to relieve some of the stress. (Im still having the back and neck problems)

Anyway, Im hoping the cigarette cravings will ease up soon. My will power is not that strong. :mark:

Officer Richard Matthews was killed in an automobile accident while responding to backup another officer. His patrol car struck a tree after he swerved to avoid a box in the roadway on Shipyard Boulevard.

Officer Matthews had served with the agency for 2 years and had previously served with the New York City Police Department for 3 years.

---------------------------------------------------------
I didn't know him, but it hits close to home. Wilmington NC is only 90 miles away from here, and this is the same manner in which my deputy got killed on October 21, 2000 (only difference was that Deputy Jeff Matheny swerved to avoid a moron that pulled out in front of him in stead of a box). And yesterday was the 8th Anniversary of the tragic loss we all felt so deeply. Well, Jeff, now you'll have back up in trying to chase after Dale! I'm sure you still haven't caught him yet, but knowing you, you are still trying to write that ticket......

RIP Officer Mathews, we have the watch, now.....

Question for y'all.

What can you buy cheaper:

1. A share of GM stock.

2. A spark plug.

I'm thinking a share of GM stock. But the Spark plug will probably be a better deal, it will last longer :p :

I hate pc's sometimes. As much fun as they are to stay connected with the world,it is frustrating when it freezes up because of an app that was downloaded. That is why I have not been here in a while.I had installed Java and that among others froze up the pc.

yeah its pretty cool how they spend 20 mil to sponsor a Nascar car, but can't pay the employees. and we got the CEO saying we got to buckle down yet he makes 12 mil a year, go ing figure

he was a major problem but it was still all the banks giving loans to people who had no money, it was all one big screwed up cycle, and now over 6 million people have been screwed over it while the CEO's made more money than last year, what a joke
