My informed opinion is a 9.0 for this race.

I didn't watch it by the way, just followed the 2nd half on bbc site, where they don't have time gaps!

Felt a little bit like an old school race at times, especially with Kvyat, Verstappen and Alonso so high up, like an old fashioned race result.

It was unpredictable, refreshing, and different, with some good stories for various drivers, and stuff going on.

9/10

This rivals Malaysian GP, but Hungary was better. This was probably the best race of season so far. Why? For one, this was an unusually good Hungaroring race. We all know that Hungaring GP has no right to be so fun unless it's raining. A flawless race for Vettel. No Mercedes cars on the podium since quite a long time. Kvyat finally on the podium (second time for any Russian in all time), and effectively leveled with Ricciardo in points. A very emotional minute of silence to remember Bianchi.

8/10. An exciting race that didn't see a lot of DRS overtakes.

10/10

Yep me too. Didn't see the race though (watched hi-lites). For me, the results alone would a 9 at least.

- Start by the Ferraris was ace; w/Hamilton & Vettel just inches apart.

- ... the Ferrari pit crew reaction to that start (been a while to get excited about anything for a while I presume).

- A fresh winner, well for the season anyways (Vettel).

- No podium for Merc.

- McLaren possibly improving(?)

- No serious injuries from accidents

Low points:

1) Hulkenberg's accident.

2) Sergio Perez's weekend of misfortune: the qualifying accident, and getting tangled up with Pastor Maldonado during the race.

At least they walked away though.

Overall pleased with the results. Hopefully more surprises to follow w/Spa & especially Monza.

I liked the race, but Kimis dfn cast a shadow over it. 6/10.

I liked the race, but Kimis dfn cast a shadow over it. 6/10.

Arivabene's body language in the post race interview said it all basically. Ferrari are not invested in Kimi hence appears not to be getting good service within the team. They have found their potential for their next title attack in Vettel and Kimi is not in the future script of Ferrari. He drove a great race and the teams poor servicing of Kimi has denied them of a ferrari one two. What goes round ????

Considering how Hungary is viewed as one of the boring circuits. Its strange that over the last 8 or 9 years I reckon 5 have been great races.

Maybe we will all view Hungaroring a classic venue soon.
