http://www.adac-rallye-deutschland.de/uk/artikel/the-2015-adac-rallye-deutschland-taking-shape-planning-for-the-german-fia-wrc-rally-in-full-swing-206772 First news about Rallye Deutschland. Some changes, but nothing extreme. If I'm correct total number of stages should be 20, which is a positive thing.

Unfortunately changes mean loosing some of the better stages, are You aware that the Authorities in Germany will not allow
stages to be run through Villages or Towns hence the loss of Moselwein,Veldenz etc. in recent years.

Moselwein is out indeed, but that was already the case last year. I think it's mostly due to safety issues, they can't control the crowd enough. But Veldenz hasn't been away, it will be the first stage on saturday now. ;)

A question about tickets for a day.

I want to visit this rally again. But I think I can only one day. Some years ago I visit 'Adac Rallye Deutschland' and I know there was a possibility to buy a ticket for one Super stage. I wonder is this still a option.

Can I buy on Friday a ticket for a stage and how many I have to pay? Or is there a possibility to buy a day-ticket to watch more stages on Friday?

Maybe you can answer the questions. Thanks a lot!

Mintexmemory

Definitely the 10 euro stage ticket is available every year. Not sure there is a day pass for as many stages as you can visit. Only the event pass is available on line at the moment.

People visiting from abroad how do you go about getting event tickets? Is it best to order online or just purchase in Germany ahead of the event?

Just trying to work out how many times it's possible to see the cars on the Saturday.

They are very close. Between some spots it's just about 50 meters, some bigger junctions even share both stages, but otherwise those are not the best places to watch.

Great looking entry, more of a pity I can't make it there. Still, looking forward to following.

Interesting to see Lefevbre in a WRC car at a round where you'd think he'd be a certainty for good WRC2 points. Still, if the chance is there... I guess this is the next part of his evaluation to see if he's worth a works drive next year.

Only 3 Fiesta R5s on the whole list; if you'd told me that a year ago I wouldn't have believed you. I hope M-Sport is selling enough of those to keep the WRC programme going.

But what status do those BMWs have? They are listed as RC2/NR4. What does that mean? Are they classified among other RC2 cars? Or is it similar to the MaxRally(?) cars at Rally Argentina, that were classified but not allowed to score points?

But it's always stressful with the marshals and self-appointed sheriffs.

There will be a serious Fabia R5 battle taking place looking forward to that. They probably hired Kopecky as Tarmac reference for Lappi, but don't know if he can keep up with him to be honest. I think the choice to give Lappi a go instead of Pontus is a clue for next year...The Nasser car is by far the prettiest livery. Fabian Kreim has the chance to show his potential and Kremer did very well last year by being reliable and steady, hope the old man will do very well against the young Fabia wolves.

Kopecký and Tidemand share same number of WRC events. Each one four while Lappi is doing eight. Kopecký has been part of Škoda team since Lappi was eleven years old and therefore saying that he was hired to show something to Lappi sounds quite funny :)

The shakedown in Konz is the most boring shakedown you can imagine, unfortunately. I would be surprised if anyone could give you a nice spot to spectate there... Since shakedown is in Konz, we're not visiting it anymore. Shakedown in Sauertal (close to friday's first stage) was great, pitty that's not run anymore... So we're arriving on thursday night. ;)

Technically due to the WRC's (stupid) early finish rule on Sunday's they don't clash. But I know what you mean. I was going to head up to Spa on the Sunday but have opted to do both runs of Dhrontal instead.

Well, last year Konz had its charm. Afterwards I asked Neuville how many rolls he counted, I counted seven. He corrected and showed six with his two hands. But prior to that, that place was veeeeeery dull indeed.

For two years we spectated at the last hairpin right. Okeyish. For a long view and sausage, "the stadium" is nice, but it definitely gives no WRC fix. It's only a short walk from the last hairpin right. Hopefully one year again the shakedown would be somewhere else.

I wonder how Ogier feels about any tiny little detail that is even remotely possible to affect him in a negative sense...
Loeb never complained even close to as much as Ogier does *sigh*

I was in Germany last year and holy hell it was fun! Unfortunately I have to work this year. I enjoyed the vineyard stages the most! There were so many good spots where you could see the cars snake up the hill sides... sometimes also two cars in the stage at the same time.

I'm surprised Tidemand isn't in the competition since he won last year and all. I know he does the Asia pacific championship but it shouldn't be that impossible to get to germany from malaysia in time for recce!

I've not seen anywhere near that amount of dust in the other tests so I don't think it will be an issue for Ogier. I know there is a much more qualified weather forecaster on the forum but from what I can see it looks like the rally will be warm and dry. If it had been wet Ogier would have had a big advantage being first on the road.

I also wanted to see Tidemand but I think someone on the forum said that he has a different tarmac event on his programme this year.

Nasser has plenty of funds.. if there is a Fabia engine available.. it can be even in Antarctica.. he can get it if he really wants it. If there is no availability at all, then we might see that some Fabia R5 cars will not start in Barum or in some future rallies (because they sold engine with extremely good price:-));-)

This time I should have some time for weather forecast as well. Generally it looks like it will be very dry. Europe (especially Trier region) will be covered by very strong Omega type of high pressure system.. even thurnderstorms are very rare to appear in such circumstances, but with some local humidity, you still have to keep one eye on the sky.. or radar .-P

There were continuous rumors that they were not happy with the previous rims because those were said to be prone to punctures (and it's true that especially Kopecký had a lot of punctures usually wihtout really hitting something). It looks like the rumors may have been true.

Doesn't surprise me either because after some runs at the PET of Loix for Ypres, mechanics of Skoda Motorsport weren't too happy if they saw the condition of the rims..

i put Ogier for win too, i think this time he will take it, although he hasnt been lucky and so dominant here. The most interesting ones for me are Paddon and Tänak. Paddon hasnt competed here with WRC car at all, his last time here was 2013 with Skoda S2000. Tänak's last time on proper tarmac rally with a WRC car was in 2012. Will be interesting to watch their performances and how they develop during the rally.

Tänak last year on Barum rally wasn't very impressive. Even considering his tyre disadvantage. He was just driving strange lines and too flamboyant.

i think he took these strange lines because of the tires, dmack's tarmac tires are real crap, gravel ones are good. In german test videos Tänak looks quite smooth and in Monte Carlo before the crash he was 4th in overall which isnt bad considering it was only his 2nd Monte. We will get the answers in the upcoming days :)

Neuville stands at Hyundai under pressure
Ironically, at the site of his biggest success is Thierry Neuville vastly under pressure. After disappointing results be Hyundai team counts on him publicly.

Unusually openly and directly Hyundai team manager Alain Penasse has his number-one on the eve of the rally criticized Germany. "Since the Rally Argentina, we are not happy with the performances of Thierry Neuville," the Belgian criticized his fellow countryman, the notice more frequent mistake to put the top times.

After Rally Finland, it came true to the conversation between the Hyundai-Command and Neuville, but evidently showed the 27-year-old little understanding of the allegations. "I am, after all, the best-placed Hyundai-pilot in the championship standings. So much wrong I can not do, "said Neuville.

But Penasse sees the situation quite differently: "Especially compared to Hayden Paddon reached Thierry not the times that we expect from him. After evaluating all the data, we know that it is on the driver. Perhaps this should again sharpen its focus and concentrate on his WRC rounds. "

Meanwhile Neuville seems to have become clear that his status in the Hyundai team is not set in stone and promised to make amends. "We had a bad phase and did not make the pace that we wanted to achieve. However, I want to build it again and will work hard for it, "he said shortly before the start of the German World Cup race, which he won last year.

Forecast: Will be shorter than usual. Omega type of blocking is keeping rain away and nice weather in Trier region.

Friday:
morning stages, sunny, no clouds, temperature +.16..+20 for the first two stages, +20..+24 for next two. Nearly no wind, light breeze from east, NE or SE.
Afternoon stages: temperature between +23..+26 degrees, no clouds and sunny. I expect tramac temperatures to increase to the level where they start to eat even some hard tyres (+40...). but not the worst.

Night will be cold, temperature will be only +12..+15

Satruday:
Morning is early and two first stages are +13..+17 degrees, light wind from East, sunny. Next three stages are +20..+22. I am not sure if there is fog possibility, yet.

There might be some clouds in the afternoon (duirng the service beak), but nothing too serious.
Afternoon stages will be run in +23..+25 degrees, still very light wind and sunny, nearly no clouds anymore. This day will be most probably the biggest tyre-eater with abrasive Baumholder stages and sun-exposed stages might experience temperature +400..+50 degrees.

Night will be cold again. same like previous, clear.

Sunday will be short:
Morning loop will be between +14..+16 degrees second loop most probably around+20..+24. Wind is picking ap and clouds appear for the second loop. However, rain should not arrive before the end of rally. Maybe for the evening when everything is packed up!

Could it be LeFevre? Looks like a Citroen, but with more Red Bull blue on the side? On the other hand it could be a local on his farm tractor putting those grapes to use. I actually have to agree with NOT, this rally photo thing is becoming a bit ridiculous. I think it started with McKlein making post card pictures to add to the regular action shots, but now the regular action shots are few and far between, and only post card shots can be a bit to much.

Too many 'artistic' photos maybe... but there's nothing wrong with some shots showing the car & scenery as it helps put the rally into context. Otherwise just shots of a rally cars on some gravel or tarmac soon look the same and could be anywhere...

Has SS1 been cancelled or something? According to my WRC+, SS1 should be running but all the GPS dots are in the service park.
...or is it just WRC+ that has gone haywire?

The hater column

Ok, today I feel like this. A bit hater, so let's see how a hater would comment those first stages.

Let's go in order:

Ogier: poor guy, nothing to complain about. He should feel embarassed with that microphone near his mouth and nothing to say.
Latvala: great pace, let's see if he will be with us in the afternoon.
Mikkelsen: the same as last year. He'll win one rally when Ogier or Latvala will crash. Not expecting too much improvements anymore.
Ostberg: He's slower than his team mate in the first time in a WRC car. Anything to add? No.
Meeke: is he still in the road? Nice news!
Evans: "clean run" "clean stage" "no problems". Get dirty you girl.
Tanak: same as Meeke.
Neuville: Benjamin Button.
Sordo: See you next year as a WRC+ live commenter
Paddon: He has to learn tarmac. Let's be kind with him.
Abbring: Horses are delaying any bad judgement about him but they will arrive sooner or later.
Kubica: let's see if he can retire only once in one rally or can break his record.
Horses: the real winners of the rally. I mean the ones in VW engines.
