1. Build 5 zero number Euro car;
2. Pay some buck to transport it over Atlantic;
3. Buy some World class tyres to drive for some minutes;
4. Find some gold to pay emergency divers and rescue crew to winch that Ford out of lake;
5. Rebuild most of a car (not cheap I guess);
6. Use some extra dollar to ship that wreck back to Europe.

#WRC - not a cheap sport I guess!!!

All my hope now for a decent challenger for Ogier in the near future rest with Neuville, hopefully Hyundai nails it with the new car. Latvala is the same every year even though we always give him a chance.

Per i am sorry for him too,but he is just not champion material.
Always struggling at 1st days with car set up.After some stages he finds it(not always) he takes some stage wins,and then crash.We have seen this scenario for years.
Pitty cause we need competition.Unfortunately Ogier is too fast for all of them.

Bättre lyss till den sträng som brast än att aldrig spänna ett båge....

I donät understand how they can make such perfect engines and gearboxes and have such long travel suspension, and not make the links and the bolts and the uprights fail+proof.. You know so the links and bolts BEND and not break...If links bend, then there some chance to reach service and replace parts.. It breaks---because made so lightweight, then you're buggered...

Years ago I was looking at broken compression strut for a WRC Escort Cosworth and the wall thickness of the link was very very thing, maybe 1,2mm wall The whole part weighed maybe 500g.....But that failure caused a DNF....
Shirley it would be better to weigh 900g and finish...
I think the F1 mentality has infected the designers..

FIA will always have problems. If they don't, they have to make some.

Actually this rule is good. The problem in the past was that sometimes local police closed their eyes and let the driver go on three wheels over the public roads but on another day in another country the police stopped such car and didn't allow the driver to continue. Such situation was anything but fair. Making a clear rule was a step ahead.

Stupid British cop: You can't drive like that
Grönholm: Oh yes I can drive like this....

Stupid British cop: No you cannot

Grönholm (thinking to self) you stupid bastid of course I can. What do you think I was doing before you stick your pig-snout in? I was driving!!!! And I CAN drive like this!) But says ÄI can, but you mean I may not...

I tear a rear corner off before, and as soon as we found the wheel ( I wasn't leaving a real Minilite and good 'tire out in the woods :arrows:), we finish stage and transit..too bad I had no spares for that that day.:bigcry:

Rules change so logically make the stuff more break resistant++bend instead.

Loeb did very good times in Monte-Carlo with the DS3. I still think the DS3 is very competitive.

For me, Mads Østberg and Kris Meeke are not as good as Ogier, Neuville, Latvala and Mikkelsen.

i think that's because its loeb to some extent, though the Citroen drivers have said they felt the difference on the new engine as well. while i was very happy that loeb was still competitive in MC, i was also a bit worried for the other drivers apart from ogier. we had loeb who was somewhat retired for 1.5 years from wrc coming back and beating drivers who are there all the time and from a not so good starting position at that.
it just shows loeb and ogier are quite exceptional and you could probably put them in any car in wrc and they would do well against the current group of wrc drivers

then yesterday there was a post where ogier was 1.7 secs behind mads on a stage, but what really stood out was the difference in their stage end comments.

Agreed. M-Sport are really making the most of it as well. All this #titanak stuff is off for me, considering he is probably going to finish in last place. I think it was important for Tanak to get back in the saddle, and glad they are ok, but M-Sport don't have anything else to talk about (such as fighting for victories or podiums), so we get all this Titanak stuff. Ostberg survived Mikelsen this time but I'm afraid it is just an occasion.

Paddon not just slow but also crashing this time. But I'm sure there will be hollow excuses again. Sordo again useless when TN also had gearbox problems, the car seems good enough with reasonable hands (and feet) in the cockpit.

Roll on the next dusty event.

competition? where did you saw it?

I saw 3 other drivers to match his pace on some stages. That is good enough for me.

I think I understood something, but I might be wrong.... Didn't Neuville just impressed with his pace last 2 rallies (I'm adding him just as another to Latvala & Meeke), I'm not talking about reliability of course, just the pace.

Ogier gave 10 seconds opening the road to the others in a stage. 10 seconds in the most loose gravel rally of the champioship. In the power stage gave 6 seconds in 3 corneers. There is not competition, it's clear. Sometimes others matched him but it's clear they are far behind. It doesn't mean Ogier is not a good driver and others are shit. It means Ogier is a very very good driver and others are shit by now.

What's this comment for?

Greek is very different from English, and there are plenty of people who speak English as their first language who make mistakes as well. At least what he's trying to tell makes sense AND is interesting to read, something I can't say from your posts...

WRC still in crises... If Neuville is in polo, it should be propper fight. This is still lemonade...

impreseed with his pace? did you notice that he finished 22 minutes from leader?
fast times which resulted to crash we have seen from plenty drivers(Latvala,Kubica,Meeke etc).This is not competition.

I'd say maybe half of N.O.T's IQ if I'm very optimistic, so no...
