No one has started a thread for this yet?

Temperature for tomorrow should be about 80°F (26°C). That's right between the barely 70° temperatures of 2013 and the 90°+ of 2012.

Thanks for starting. Any guesses who the winner will be? My choice would be Newgarden. Good for the sport with an American driver in his early years and an under funded team.. I don't think he'll be the winner, but it would be nice and maybe create some buzz.

I have a suspicion the Ganassi team has been massively sandbagging. They were slow all month and when they needed it they just turned it on.

As a newbie to Indycar this season, what is the main difference between the regular Indycar rounds and the Indy 500

Do we have more cars?

More cars, yes. But the main difference is the pressure which comes from racing on one of the most famous tracks and events in all of auto racing. Kind of like Monaco, which is a crappy little track no one would dream of putting i F1 car on if it weren't Monaco. Indy isn't crappy of course and is very well maintained. And, lets not forget the massive purse at Indy. The winner becomes an instant millionaire.

It's the only IndyCar race left that gets any attention at all :p

Wow, 135 laps in and not a single yellow flag - this might well become the fastest Indy 500 ever.

The Andretti cars are looking pretty good at this point.

Great call by race control to stop the race!

Well-deserved win by Hunter-Reay (first victory by an American driver since Hornish Jr. back in 2006)! If they hadn't red-flagged the race, we would have been robbed of a great finish.

Great race, and a great call by Indycar to red flag it. I realize Indycar isn't making a big splash with the fans, but it's not the fault of the on track product. it's been very good.

Wow. I'm breathless after that one.

Who else thinks that the inside pass Ryan made near the end of the race was a total bone headed "red mist" move. Ryan seems to be prone to that sort of thing lately.

And what might have been if Juan wasn't sited for a pit speed violation? It looked like their fuel strategy was playing out rather well.

The finish was like watching FVees at Phillip Island.

Somehow, with all the close finishes they've had in recent years. They don't feel as intense as the 92 race did.

I guess someone who saw FVee at Phillip Island would understand that. The rest of us are "????".

Other than being about 120 mph slower...

GaryYeah because no one here knows of the PI circuit, hey?? No one could even imagine what I'd be saying?

In actual fact, I'm wrong. Last year's Indy Lights race is ore like a fvee race at PI.
