Valve Bounce

Holy Mackerel, I saw one yesterday - just for a fleeting moment; around 5 seconds. Round about this time every year, owners of exotic cars trot them out on a fine day to give them an airing before the GP.
I am sure I saw one of these yesterday: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Merc ... 66&bih=667 (https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Mercedes+Benz+300SL+Gullwing&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=j6P9UtOLHsOgkAXyuYHwCQ&ved=0CDIQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=667)
Created almost 60 years ago, if you saw one today, you could swear the design is still ahead of its time in year 2014.
I remember that one was converted at great expense into a RHD, a very difficult task as the 3 litre straight 6 engine was canted at 45 degrees to the left, and made conversion to RHD almost impossible. It was owned by some guy in Surfers Paradise, and had the licence number SL300.
Given the choice of any car I could have, I would choose this 300SL Gullwing in a heartbeat.
