I have been holding off a long time before posting this thread. Well, here is a sample of what I am talking about: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/footb ... 6815761687 (http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/football/crowd-restrictions-target-rogue-elements-in-melbourne-victory-supporter-group/story-fnk6pqhd-1226815761687)
Soccer fans running riot in Melbourne's CBD and letting off flares inside the stadium as well s a train station.
Then on the other hand, we have the 20/20 Big Bash Cricket games with the stadiums full of happy young children enjoying the game. I know I am a very late comer to the 20/20 cricket because I thought it was some silly form of the game of cricket. But when you have a crowd of 64735 at the MCG all enjoying themselves, children laughing and waving, and I see a lot of enjoyable stuff on the field, I am a convert. I love 20/20 cricket!!!!!
When I was in HK, I used to record Premier League games of Soccer from England and watch it religiously. Well, no more. Can't stand the bad sportsmanship, bad crowd behavior, and bunches of supporters giving Nazi salutes.
I will watch cricket until the end of the season when our footy (Aussi Rules) season begins.
A very encouraging sign are the numerous young children enjoying 20/20, all able to get in for free. What a fantastic idea for future cricketers of the country as well as future fans. Fantastic PR.
Oh yeah! before I forget, the Poms also copped a hiding in the 50 overs ODI as well as being humiliated in the International 20/20 game. One almost feels sorry for these ex champion players who thrashed our guys not that long ago. How the worm turns.
