This fantastic rally deserves its own topic. In the other thread one said there were around 7 S2000's participating and of course other N4's too (like Andreucci!).

This will be very interesting to follow!

There are 120 crews on the entry list. Among them 7 S2000, 13 S1600, nearly 30 group N and 6 GT cars.

I went to see this rally last year and I can tell you that the stages over there are fantastic! I remember me and my friends were walking up the hill in order to find some fast corner and there was hairpin after hairpin, one after another, like 10 hairpins in a row, it's crazy! :)

Tomasz Czopik and Tomasz Kuchar organized a test session before Mille Miglia and Elmot rallies. Czopik was driving the car that Freddy Loix used in TAC Rally. He will also use the same car on Elmot Rally, one week after Mille Miglia. They measured times and said that Volkswagen was 1 sec/km faster than Subaru.

How much modification does the car have? Guess the brakes would be the most important upgrade on this type of car for the event..

GT cars will have their own final classification, unfortunately they're not going to run special stages 2 & 6 (Cavallino) .

Juraj Šebalj, Croatian driver who is supposed to drive the whole ERC might not be there. He has also entered Čakovec Rally, first round of Croatian champ. and the rally takes place the exact same weekend as 1000 Miglia does.

Me too. The Nissan 350 Z is a good car. Here in Belgium Chris Van Woensel showed it last year and he took a 4th and 5th place in the Belgium championship this season.

Renato Travaglia will be present in this rally but its plans for 2007 season are the IRC!. San Marino Rally and 1000 miglia would be a good way to train for the next IRC events!

I think that livery it's only for 1000 Miglia... look at Isik's Car.. and Basso, and Gatti... all of the are similiar... probably it's a strategy from Fiat.

Well, Corrado Fontana set the fastest time for the registered drivers of ERC

The results of 1st stage.. are interesting...

For example.. Simon lost 11 sec. in only 4.5 Kms.. it's too much time!

And Perico lost a lot of time.. he had problems in his 207 S2000...

Last year Jean Joseph finished Sanremo in 5th position... and Perico was 3rd overall in Ciocco this year..

Hmmm yes i must say i am dissapointed with SJJ as well...that doesn't mean i am not supporting him...its just the fact that we are not used seeing him so low. Maybe the new regulations for the N4 cars (Bigger brakes) gave them a far bigger advantage over the s1600 on tarmac as well...

Its nice to see the s2000 class proves to be faster than the N4 cars...the rally is still long.....no place in top 10 is secured yet !!!!

Czopik had transmission problem in his Polo and is out. Luca Betti and his new Honda are out as well. This is very difficult rally, both for cars and for drivers.

It looks like only Puntos are saved from that problem (transmission)...

all the others S2000 are always having Transmission problems :s

In the first movie of day 1 you can see how much more commitment Basso had than the other FIAT drivers, that is probably the reason why he is so far in front... :) Of course he has the experience!

Solowow's stage times are still terrible. He says he doesn't know what is wrong, is it a result of bad car settings, bad tyre choice or simply bad driving?

In my opinion, if Iliev wins this ERC round, it will be a triumph of real talent over big money.

I have seen Solowow in Ypres last year I think, and it wasn't really a big light. But ok, he drives rallycars and we can watch him, so, cool! :D

I have to say that Honda was a disaster on this first event with Civic R3... they retired again.. with the same problem as yesterday.. and their times was good.. always bad times...

Nothing new in Italy-nowebody cannot match against Italian drivers on their home roads. It thought, this year other drivers will give a decent fight with Basso&Rosseti&Andreucci&Co, but again Italian's are one class better!! Shame for foregin drivers.....They even could not match Italian drivers in cars S1600(except S.J.Joseph), and they were in much stronger N4 or S2000 cars. Ok, enough of this-first of all I must say that I am happy for Andreucci who showed, the he is only capable to fight with Punto&P207 S2000. To all Subaru fans-Impreza N4 is not anymore on the same level as Lancer evo9-at least on dry tarmac!
