Pity for Loeb, and for us... no big battle after all. Very anticlimatic end from every point of view.

A "Norwegian" team in R5's, not Ford. Eyvind brynhildsen in one, another in the other. Probably with Dmack, but no Ford or autotek....

Pontus in R5 is exiting!

Several Norwegian youngguns is working with something other than fiesta R2's, Citroën R3t is a hot tip, also some wrc-3 apperances.

Very interesting development, especially if Eyvind and Pontus can team up. I guess EVEN Management has a finger in the game here!

From Kristian Sohlberg´s facebook fanclub:
------------------
Kristian Sohlberg makes a return to the WRC.

After months of hard work the determination by Kristian, he has found support for selected rounds of the WRC next year.
Kristian will start his programme with Rally Sweden in the very successful Fiesta R5.

"I am more than delighted to get this opportunity. I have worked hard for years and now finally everything came together. I want to thank Ken Rees for this opportunity, and the Autotek team for making this possible. This however could not have been achieved without support from some great sponsors. Its been 6 years since my last rally in the WRC. I heard only positive things about the R5, so I really look forward in getting in the car," said Kristian.

On recent events this car has proved itself to be the future of the WRC with many top ten finishes and very big manufacture interest.
The car will be run and maintained on event by Autotek, the very experienced company who have already had much success with the Fiesta R5 on recent WRC events.
As Kristian finalises his plans for 2014, he looks forward to being back out on the stages and entertaining the fans.
More information will be released closer to the event.

All drivers that do not get a works seat should focus on WRC 2 or ERC in a R5. Easier to get noted by the works team in a good private R5 team than in a private WRCar!

More equal competition in more equal equipment!

You cold be both right:
in WRC-2 he can drive only 7, (6 best counting) but same time he can drive all WRC rallies with R5, he must just inform before each rally will he be part of WRC-2

In an interview to Rally Emotion magazine, the guy told them he was looking at a kind of original way of approach the series. He was without any sponsors and then, after some outings with a "nude" car, he decided to give it a military theme, as nobody used anything similar in WRC. He also said in the interview the name of the team (FuckMatié) could also become a fashion brand (he's son of Italian stylist Miuccia Prada!). :)

It says in Motorsport News that the 2013 JWRC winners prize that Pontus Tidemand won is not what EVEN Management thought it was.
- they have a Fiesta R5 car
- they have Hankook tyres
- they have free entry
But no budget to run the cars from. That is not included in the deal, and means that they are missing a lot of the budget. They thought everything was in the package, but obviously not.

So they are chasing money right now, and hope to have enough to run at least the next WRC2 round, and work from there.

I'm sorry to hear that. But the management people should be smarter than relying on a verbal agreement of "the prize is a full all included-package". And if there is a written agreement then all the specific info should be there for them to read.

Seems a bit strange that EVEN didn't know what came with the JWRC prize and the one who lose on this will be Tidemand. There must be more to this. I hope that they are smarter than that...

Apart from the discussion above EVEN said that they will come to start in Portugal, no matter what. I think they still are too serious for not coming anyway.

What?!

That's like saying you have won the lottery but the prize is just a bank account to put the $1m in.

Torres will do 2 or 3 european events. Poland, Italy and one more.

I don't think any of the Paraguayans will be on other rounds. Maybe Bestard will contest some other event with a Group N car.

WRC 2 starts to be good. More cars in R5, still RRC and S2000 are competitive. N4 keeps up the numbers.

WRC 2 in 2015 can be very good, especially if this series can get an own sponsor, and more press. Maybe the few remaining gentlemen drivers can swap, and maybe win something.

It would be good if WRC 2 got separate TV coverage, but it will never happen.

Everybody from WRC promoter and also at FIA takes WRC2 only as supporter championship, which brings more crews and more money for entry fee...
