Ten days to go, and the itinerary has been updated with the live-transmission information: http://www.rajdpolski.pl/pliki/pliki/zawodnicy/2013/harmonogram/70-RP-Harmonogram-Draft-EN--02-09-2013--v-11-Eurosport-Live.pdf. I'm not able to find the entry list, but Kubica, Kosciuszko, Kopecky and Breen have all been confirmed.

Entry list should be published tomorrow during organizers press conference.
Besides those who you already wrote we can expect regular polish champs drivers plus Solowow (Fiesta RRC), Holowczyc (Fiesta RRC), Staniszewski (Fiesta RRC), Bouffier (207 S2k), Grzyb maybe, some other Czech drivers (Tlustak?, Orsak?), Kangur with Fiesta R5 was expected to come but now I'm not sure if he has car after his accident during Kurzeme, plus some other surely.
Polski is round of Lithuanian Champs also, current entries you can find here:
http://www.lasf.lt/files/2013%20reglamentai/Lenkija/Dalyviai_Mikolaikos_02.pdf
unfortunately not a lot, but for sure some quality drivers and it will be nice to see them here.

Only Simone Tempestini will be there. Marco will compete in the round 7th of Romanian championship which is in the same time with Poland Rally.

Andre Oliveira

it is 100% sure.

3rd September 2013, 22:39
Breen will be co-driven by Lara Vanneste.

Because Nagle is with Mikkelsen or because Vanneste is paying?

MartijnS

Because of Nagle is with Mikkelsen.

Quite a random choice though.. I know she has co-driven for some experienced drivers but I thought they might have chosen someone closer to home!

I must say I'm impressed. Great entry list!
But why the hell we have so hopeless roads what makes this rally so far away? :-(

Jarek Z
4th September 2013, 13:38
Not a bad entry list. There are some rumors that it contains mistakes though. Some people say that Hołek, Staniszewski and Sołowow will drive RRC cars and not S2000.

Mirek
4th September 2013, 13:54
RRC is technically still S2000. RRC is only marketing name of M-sport but the car is homologated as S2000. It's messy but technically correct to call both 1.6T and 2.0NA just S2000.

skory

Hołek has confirmed on his FB page that he will drive Fiesta RRC from M-Sport.

Finally Kajto with competitive car. Great!!!

Let's hear what Kajto himself has to say about it:

It's as intriguing as a first kiss stolen from a girl in the kindergarten times. Today, although the challenge is much more ambitious, deep inside me I'm excited again. :)

DS3 RRC:

Fiesta R5:

Fiesta S2000:

Staniszewski for sure with RRC also, he tested this car today. Kosciuszko I think also with RRC, but we will see tomorrow, when he will do testing.
Grzyb with Fabia, from JM I think, Kajetanowicz Fiesta R5 also from JM.
Oleksowicz and Gryazin "typical" Fiestas S2000, not sure about Avci, but I think also naturally aspirated S2k.
Koltun after huge damage to his Fiesta S2k will go with Subaru (as with his RRC Solowow will drive).
Holowczyc said he wanted R5, but such car was unavailable. He said rumors say R5 is almost 1s/km faster than RRC but RRC should be more reliable, etc. But that's his opinion...

It doesn't look good. Actually I'm quite surprised. It doesn't rain so heavy in southern Poland and I had no idea it looks so bad in the north.

But I have just had a look at the weather forecast for the next days and it isn't that bad. It's going to be cloudy on Thursday and Friday, but during the rally, on Saturday and Sunday, it will be 15-18C and sunny.

Onboard from quali stage (kopecky):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsIGqayf364

The fact that they are running the quali on a super special stage seems new to me? Could it be some experimentation on public response by the FIA, after all the debate we've seen about the stage stucture of the WRC?

Or maybe it's standard here in Poland/ERC and I am just misinterpreting :)

- Amazing committed driving by Bouffier, great to watch
- Bouffier's headlights, what the hell are they? It was like looking at the sun. The brightest whitest light I have seen from a lampod!

Great driving by Bouffier and Kajetan!
Nice times for Kubica and Kangur, a pity they made mistakes...
Disappointments: Kopecky (he should challenge for the win everywhere, even if he doesn't need it) and especially Breen. Maybe it has something to do with the codriver? Or setup?

Mirek

Kopecký has never been a gravel driver. He won only two gravel events in his whole career - Acores and Romania this year. In neither one of them he was the fastest but most reliable. I think that his pace on gravel has not changed much but since both Hänninen and Mikkelsen left we did not have the full picture of his speed through this season. I would say his victories on Acores and in Romania say more about the level of competition there.

Thanks a lot for this video. I was at the football match yesterday, so I had no idea what was going on in the rally. Of course without shots from the ground this footage lacks some dynamics, but still I find it very good.

What a bad luck of Kubica! Or is it lack of skills?

Just realized we have two stages with same name in two consecutive ERC events (ok, almost) :D

Biskupice (Barum Rally)
Biskupiec (Rajd Polski)

Biskupice in Czech means something like a village of a bishop. I think the Polish name means the same. Biskup = bishop in both languages.

Bryan needs half a sec per km over the last 2 stages, 40km odd, maybe possible considering the conditions but won't be easy.

Was this here? A video from outside with the moment when Kubica broke wheel. There was a hidden stump in the grass just at the roadside.

I'd be surprised if Bouffier risks going for the win now... I think he'll just hope for a problem or mistake by Kajto.

Jan and Pavel are already European champions. After four second places in IRC in a row... This year the competition wasn't that good but the title is sure deserved.

By the way Pavel Dresler is double European champion already because in 2011 he won title in category C in Historic European Championship with Miroslav Janota. That's for a guy who started as an ordinary rally fan (for example he was part of the initiative Fans For Kresta which supported Roman in his way to the Ford factory team).

Congratulations if that's true. 7 event, 5 wins, 2 podiums is a pretty good record. Not all the events had poor entry lists.

Also he proved today he can drive on gravel on SS10/13, just a shame he can't manage that speed for the whole rally!

But this is what I don't like about the complicated points system of IRC and now ERC. Jan is champion but nobody knows it because you need a degree in mathematics to work it out. Less rounds, no dropped scores nonsense please!

Yes exactly. I thought they already champions too, but there is still theoretical chance for Craig, as you have to count on bonus points. To be absolutelly sure, Jan needs about 15 points plus.

Kopecky has 119 points of advantage over Bouffier, and a few more over Breen. Granted the rest of the ERC rounds have two bonus-eligible legs, there's only 117 points up for grabs.

I tried to count once more, now more precisely. Seems thats true, even if Craig wins maximum available points for remaining three round, Jan should still have 10 points advantage. Let's wait for official ERC calculation.

I really hope, that this victory gives Kajto the boost to find the funds for an international campaign in a proper rally car next year. Maybe it helps, that he is two minutes faster than the Lotos Nr. 1 driver.

If Kopecky has secured the championship already, I don't think that we will see him in Croatia either. Or any other rally this year; his season might be over.

Škoda confirmed an hour a go that Kopecký will start in Croatia. He will also start in Rally P?íbram which is last part of Czech championship because he can win also Czech title (despite not doing all rounds).

Official Peugeots are 8th and 10th after leg 1 and that only because of problems of Kubica and Kangur in the last stage otherwise they would be 10th and 12th. Quite a shame when You compare them with Bouffier.

That's true. Now official Peugeots are behind Bouffier also in the ERC standings:
1. Kopecky 248,
2. Bouffier 129,
3. Breen 121,
4. Delecour 75,
5. Kajetanowicz 50,
...
18. Ancian 20.

Yes, that is exactly the location of Kubica's second crash.

P.S. If someone needs translation of the spectators' reactions here it is:

Ufff... crazy difficult rally... for drivers, teams, spectators, organizers also.
Idea of service park on not concrete surface for every team was very stupid. Road conditions very difficult, but finally it turned out everybody was able to drive and not get stuck.
Top 9 on Michelin tires, does it mean something?

Absolutely. I guess I underestimated the other Poles but like I said somewhere else Kubica was a bit disappointing here.. Ok it is hard to be disappointed with him 'globally' given this is his first proper year rallying but given his speed earlier in the year and his greater experience now I expected him to be a bit quicker (and hopefully not crash!)
