Perhaps will not be at Catalunya beacause it clashes with his British Championship program

That is true. I was thinking about when I writing.
But Wilks will prefer WRC above BRC (I hope).

And what about Errani?

Wilks has got a factory drive with Mitsubishi for the BRC season, so don't know if he's contracted to do all the events?

Duval will be there.

I bet he will have problem again with First-Motorsport, Skoda Belgium and Skoda CZ... :s

As to Wilks, in an Italian important rally news website there is an article about the possibility that he will be in Sardinia with a Ramsport Focus as to avoid a long WRC stop (his next planned WRC event would be Finland, in the far August).

The link to the news is the following:

There are rumours that he has sponsor problems with his biggest sponsor, Pyramid Technologies.

Tom I think it is you as it's only after you suggest it that there are problems ;)

User

Wim_Impreza, don't scare those people ;)

The problem was the bank, which manages the money of Pyramid Technologies. They hadn't paid in time for Portugal. Thats why some parts were missing, and the team decided not to start.

Pyramid Technologies said that they were NOT like Kizz-me, and they will stick to the contract.

Duval is a fast driver but I don't think he has a chance with that Skoda. Would be nice if he could find an old Focus or Xsara to drive instead of that Fabia.

There will be a very good and long entry lists in Sardinia (the longest among the WRC rounds run till now) and all the best stages spots could be easily reached, so it will be a great WRC round.

See you next month in Sardinia!

In Portugal he had an entry list with 84 teams, 23 WRC cars and 20 JWRC cars. In Sweden and Norway there were more WRC cars than will be on Sardinia.

But no doubt, Sardinia will be a great event.

It's not one stage, it's the end rally results.
Anyway, I got your point, but you can't deny that Skoda are improving?
If you had the chance to choose right now between Skoda or private Citroen or Ford, what would you choose?

It's not the end results, it's the result of 2007 MC SS1.

Assuming C4 is not available but Focus 06 is I would go with Ford.

Sorry, my bad. But still, it wasn't bad performance.

Probably no Duval.
First Motorsport (the team of Duval) planned to buy 4 Fabia's. But First Motorsport (apparently) still hasn't recieve any money from their sponsor (Pyramid Technologies). Skoda Motorsport had enough of it, and they sold the Fabia's to Wevers Motorsport (a Dutch Team). So no Fabia for Duval, and maybe even no rally.

Which brings the question, what Wavers Motorsport will do with these cars.
Do you know?

One car for Wevers himself, one for Rene Kuipers (both for Dutch championship, maybe a few WRC events). Unknown for the other two.

We totally agree that Sardinia will be a great event and I hope we totally agree too that 85 is bigger than 84! :)

I simply wrote that Rally d'Italia - Sardegna 2007 entry list is the longest one among the WRC rounds run till now, so I was right.

I didn't say anything about the kind of cars (WRC, S1600, N4, etc.) but simply wrote about how many they are.
About the car, you're are right! Some events had more WRC cars while some had less JWRC cars. However all the events run till now, Mexico excluded, had very good and long entry list.

I strongly hope the other WRC 2007 rounds will have a so long and so interesting entry list!

But where is duval's last years fabia? That car was rented from Skoda Motorsport last year and during the winter it returned to Mlada Boleslav, center of the Skoda. That car is one of those, that should be sold to First Motorsport and actually it is owned by Eric Wevers.

No S2000 cars in Sardinia and only 5 fiestas in trophy. (0 pieces of FIAT in entrylist, is this rally really in Italy?)

Davide78
2nd May 2007, 15:23
Well, there are all the JWRC crews and many WRC cars, even if not all, unfortunately, due to the too usual budget problems that prevateers have to front....
Moreover there are all the Italian Subaru Cup crews, a very good championship, with a high driver level, and some good Italian young drivers, like Campedelli.
So it's not at all a bad entry list.

The lack of Fiat S2000 cars could sound strange but it isn't as Fiat official team, Abarth, is involved in another world championship, the IRC, and it's not interested in WRC.
If Fiat was interested in WRC, it would have competed in PWRC and not in IRC. The IRC is very cheaper than PWRC and it also allows Fiat to compare its Punto S2000 with other S2000 cars, so Fiat decided to partecipate to that Championship and to use all its economic resources to front the IRC (and the Italian National Championship) challenge.

Looking forward to see both v/d Heuvel and Weijs Jr. driving the whole new Dutch Mitsubishi team. They will drive 6 WRC rallies, starting with Sardinia. Finally some serious initiative from the Netherlands.

At least a good start with the liverie
