*So Lewis has the chance to win number 4 around Budapest.
Pretty impressive from Lewis, i would say. I'll forecast a pole from him, yet the temps are really gonna give him rear tire trouble. I don't really think that Merc (Lewis) will be able to back up the field like in Monaco, so who will take the win?
Can Fernando come up with a miracle with a Soft-soft-medium strategy and an undercut, or too? dare i say a one stopper for Ferrari?
Ohh, one can only hope for that,........an another DNF from The Finger :D

so sky coverage were lauding button's great performances in hungary and made particular mention about how he "destroyed his teammate" at this race last year (their words not mine)
nevermind that Hamilton won in 2012, and has won there 3 times including with an abysmal car in 2009, while button had the dominant Brawn.
nevermind the 2011 race where he was dominating until a farcical pit call put him on super softs again, forcing him to make and additional pit stop and then a 10-sec penalty for the diresta incident, all while in the lead. Try as they may, to talk up button, he is certainly never had the measure of hamilton in budapest and was lucky enough to get that one win over him.
In 2012 the tear they were lauding Button, Hamilton was fastest in 2 practice sessions and 2n;d fastest ni the other. Took a dominant pole and lead the race with a strong kimi consistently 1-2 seconds behind. Meanwhile button could not get past senna or half the race, languishing down in the order before finishing in 6th. so much for that :(

Perez may have a strong strategy as well to move up several places. Unless it cools down the cars on the softer tires will be pitting fairly early.

I was really surprised to see Alonso only 0.4 seconds away from pole and Massa, 0.5. It might be much closer than the previous races and if degradation is high, we might see the Ferraris fighting the Lotuses for the win with the Bulls and specially the Mercs fading.
Of course, it might as well go the other way around but a bit of wishful thinking can't hurt... ;)

Hamilton did a superb job of getting the pole position in an inferior car due to the RB favourite boy messing up his lap, but looking at the practise times (rather, the long stints done in practise sessions), RB was in a completely different league compared to other teams. So it is easy to predict who will win. If the temps are really high, that might help Ferrari and Lotus a little, but I still can't see past RB winning.

Button had 2 wheels over the white line and still Romain moved over and made contact. Yes he had the position, but he hadn't completed the pass and could not move line while a car was still there. How you can claim that was buttons fault is amazing.

What a disgrace of a penalty to Grosjean, very sad there are so stupid stewards.
A certain person showed once again what a whiner he is. What a loser. Did he forget what he did at the start to Grosjean or is that an alternative reality that is irrelevant? What makes it funny though is Red Bull not getting the win despite having the fastest car again  That's what you get for not having a driver like Hamilton in your team, not always does the best car help inferior drivers.
Sad to see Ferrari so much off the pace, poor Alonso.
Oh and the performance by Hamilton - wonderful drive, one of the very best of the season. Two critical overtakes on Webber were great.
if they give grosjean a penalty then this will be a fiasco.
grosjean was ahead and on the inside making the move and button instead of conceding the postion, simply tunred in to grosjean
Grosjean turned in, look at the replay.

Well, that was a brilliant drive from Hamilton. It was rather lucky at times but one doesn't win without the fastest car without a slice of luck. He drove perfectly and it was a well-deserved victory.
This was rather OK for an Hungarian GP - more on-track action that we've seen on previous Hungarian GPs, although IMHO a bit dull compared to other races in this season. Personally I don't enjoy it much when positions are decided by strategy rather than fighting on the track. I guess the fact that Alonso didn't have a lot to do today besides trying to keep position made it rather boring for me as well. :P

Not that he is a stranger to putting a good face on for the press. Anyway, I completely understand his frustration because it doesn't feel good to have a faster car for a lot of laps and being unable to overtake.

You're beggining to sound like a Vhat or a Garry. Be careful.
First of all.
It was plain to see that Button, although doing well today, did play his part in holding up faster cars throughout the racer
second, and more importantly my annoyance has less to do with button and more to do with the sky broadcast team, who seem to have made it a point this weekend to play up button's prowess
and I quote
"a master here in Hungary" said in FP1, despite Hamilton winning 3 times here
"totally destroyed Hamilton in the 2012 race" said in FP2 which was wrong and ridiculous
etc.
He got involved in an incident and i did not agree with the perspective of the sky crew
he then did hold up some of the faster drivers, which i'm not complaining about since it benefited hamilton
that's pretty much the breadth of my annoyance. if he drives brilliantly in the next race and does well. i'll applaud his efforts
as i've done in the past as recently as Monaco this year, where he did very well

your thoughts are being echoed by Davidson who is just as miffed about the massa incident penalty
if anything he could have gotten one for gaining a spot from cutting the chicane in the button incident
but I still think his initial move on button was fine and if anything button, knowing that he did not have the lead over him, nor the inside line to the corner should have backed off, instead of potentially ruining his front wing and cutting grosjeans rear tire. The squeeze only happened because button refused to concede

He was doing it in every stint. The Mercedes boys were both told to take a shallower line through the exit of turn 2 to save the tyres, the Red Bulls clearly didn't have to that, which must be due to a car that is lighter on its tyres than the Merc.

I already showed you admitting you lied, so spare me the nonsnense about calling you out on them. news flash: some cars are stronger at different places on the track. those are the spots they will try their best to overtake someone. unlike the merc, the Rb has wlays lacked the straight line speed of other top teams so has to push hard during cornering or they would never pass anyone. I wasn't aware of that, but class act for doing so.
Overall a good race IMO.
Lewis used the pace when needed and pulled the gap. Other than his first pit entry (waaay up on the curbs) a very clean race for him.
Kimi drove in the shadows and was not noticed much of the race... right up until the came back into the light and kept Seb from getting by him. Good fighting and solid pace.
Grosjean was robbed with the penalty IMO. I've yet to see an angle where all four wheels were off. His move on Button was his fault though IMO.
Seb is feeling the pressure and it was obvious from all his lock ups and tire abuse. If the other teams can keep the pressure up and lessen the car gap his weakness shows. The team seems solid, but IMO Seb shakes easy if he doesn't maintain domination in the car.

why did Ferrari and alonso escape punishment?
to me that is worse than the massa incident with grosjean. because they penalized Grosjean for a strict interpetation of the rules technicality, which was not done intentionaly, and mor for avoidance of a collision.
meanwhile alonso is blatantly abusing the drs to either gain an advantage or hold of his pursuer, in both cases illegally
but not worthy of a penalty?

I don't think you should use the word "blatantly" here. Here's the explanation from the stewards:
"The DRS enabling system was not changed by the team from the pre-race to the race setting," said a stewards' statement.
"The driver therefore incorrectly received 'DRS enabled' messages and reacted to them (when not entitled to) on three occasions.
"As soon as the team became aware of the problem they informed the driver to only use DRS when told to do so by the team.
"Whilst a small sporting advantage (less than one second over the entire race) was gained, the team argued #3 also suffered a disadvantage by being unable to use DRS on every legitimate occasion.
"However, the team is ultimately responsible for ensuring the system conforms to the regulations."

Was that when he was being followed by Vettel, and there was a head-on shot of them coming out of the final corner and down the straight? If it's the occasion I'm thinking of, they had just lapped a Marussia, so I'm guessing Button waited until after the DRS detection point before passing the lapped car.

Regarding the Grosjean penalty, yes it did seem a bit unfair, because it was a fantastic bit of driving. But if all 4 wheels crossed the white line then he has gone of track to complete a move. If you remember the German GP last year when Vettel used the run-off at the hairpin to pass Button, then the rules have been enforced consistently on this occasion.
