This won't be anything like the 2005 USGP. That was still "technically" a race.

Yeah but every driver is using Pirelli tires. Then, most of the field was using Michelin while Ferrari, Jordan, and Jaguar were on Bridgestone

I wonder if Pirelli will ensure they have a plan B to avoid another PR disaster... maybe produce and bring a batch of last year spec tyres?

Not 100% sure but I think so as the FIA made an announcement on Monday that it would change the rules to allow the tyre specification to change within the season without the unanimous approval of the teams... whatever that might mean?
