This is probably nothing, but I'd like to find the source.

I heard a rumor on the speedtv.com forums that IMS recently hosted a private test session. The vehicle being tested was said to have the distinct sound of a turbocharged Cosworth engine. Theories are ranging from a developing oval package for the new spec Champ Car to running a two class field in the I500 this year, to a merger.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I would love to know that answer to this one myself if there is any truth. With some Champ Car teams and their head office in Indy, it is possible but it is hard to hide the evidence of a Champ Car transporter driving into IMS isn't it?
