Personally, I'm happy Disney bought the rights. Now we maybe see the end of the saga. However... they should do something with Carrie Fisher :dozey:

Me too. Should have happened much sooner, maybe we might have been spared JaJa Binks? ;)

I'm not going to bash George Lucas. He's making me laugh pretty hard by trolling the residents of Lucas Valley. I just hope that the next flicks are nowhere near as bad as Episodes I & II! I actually liked Episode III, so it wasn't a complete waste of a trilogy.

Sad .
Sold out to the Mouse .
I've got a buddy who worked for him for a while , when they put out the boxed set .
That's where my best "nerd-cred" came to me .
He was working on the out-takes reel , that accompanied the films on the DVD .
One of the most famous scenes in the first movie is the bar scene , where you see a load of wierd looking aliens milling about .
I had given his wife a birthday gift of a pair of earrings I had made when they had visitted a short time earlier .
So , when it came time to animate the scene , the character turns his head , and shows his ear , which has one of her earrings swinging about .
I'm gonna have to get me a good lawyer , now that the mouse is the one to sue .
Any one else able to match that "nerd-cred" ?

Sad .
Sold out to the Mouse .
Disney acquired Marvel Comics in 2009 and the movies that have been subsequently produced based off Marvel Comics are hardly a disgrace to the series. I don't see why Disney wouldn't do a good job here. It's not like George Lucas set the bar very high with anything Star Wars-related that he touched after 1983 anyway.

I've heard that they want to emulate the Bond franchise by sticking out a new film every couple of years. If true, that's got the potential to go either way, and I suspect there'll be a fair few turkeys.

"My name is Solo, Han Solo"
It has a certain ring to it, but I am not sure it will stick...

Natalie Portman is probably the best thing to come out of Episode 1,2,3
