5S8 3686 was used by Felice Re in Italy last weekend...
S37 47E was used in Ireland last year by Maurice Gass and Charlie Donnelly.
3S3 36E was used by Derek McGarrity and George Cullen in Ireland in 2005 & then purchased by Jack Sleator and used by him in 2006.

Sorry dont know chassis numbers or 36 and 47E

Guess a search through the Martin Holmes year books is needed for this one....

S37-36E is chassis 9, I think

S37-88E is the First Motorsport car (Vouilloz / Duval)

And wasn't there a 4S5-3380 used in the 2005 season as well?

In this thread are mentioned two types of czech number plates - the standart one si with four numbers in the and (e.g. 5S8 3686), the second (for example 3S3 36E - at the end only two numbers and the letter E) are only temporar for cars, that are set for change the owner coming from abroad. So it is like cars with these temporar plates are only reregistered - if I remember good, the Garrity´s car 3S3 36E is ex 3S3 1949 for example (concretely driven by Jan Kopecky in czech rally champoship 2004 :-) )

I think that S37-36E is chassis 9 too,
S37-88E is chassis nr 11 registrated as 3S4-5611
4S5-3380 is chassis nr 15 registrated for one rally as 3S3-1943
and i don t know what happend with the S37 47E a Prospeed car in 2004.

More confirmed than rumoured: Dutch driver Erik Wevers, formerly in a Corolla, bought 5 Fabia WRC's, of which 2 will drive in the Dutch championship. Where or when the cars will make their appearance is not certain yet.

Yes he is, he also drove the second round of the Dutch championship last weekend and finished second.

I think it are just rumours though that he bought te Fabia's, but I sure hope so.

Last pieces of Škoda Fabia WRC were sold from Škoda Motorsport to abroad. Two cars stay in the Czech republic in Czech Rally Team - Kopecký. Four of cars should have been sold to First Motorsport, where they should have been driven by Francois Duval. But finally these cars found their new home in Holland, where is the seat of Eric Wevers' team, known with servicing ex-manufacturer Corollas WRC (because of this team's activities there was lengthened the homologation of Toyotas up to 2008).

To Holland were delivered cars No. 7, 14 (run by Škoda Motorsport in the past), 17 (ex-Red Bull) and 18 (ex-First). Three of these cars have six-speed gearbox, one with five-speed gearbox. Three cars have active diffs, the No. 18 is passive.

Eric Wevers wants to run Holland championship with one of Fabias, another car should be run in the same serial by René Kuipers. Wevers would also like to enter some WRC event, probably Rally Deutschland. The remaining cars are available for rent.

Another Fabia WRC (No. 16, passive, 5-speed grbx) was sold to Canary Islands and should be run in VW Racing team and driven by Tony Ponse. At the beginning of the year, there was sold an ex-Red Bull Fabia WRC to italian Errepi Racing of driver Felice Re. In the Czech republic (CRT Kopecký) stayed cars No. 20 set for gravel rallyes, the new one car No. 22 bulit in 2006 is for tarmac competitions.

Both the Fabia's will make their debut tommorow at the Proflex Merwede Rally in Hulst. 3rd round of the Dutch championship. Don't know any WRC plans of Wevers, but Germany would indeed be in it if so.

46-XF-JH (Wevers) is probably chassis number 7, because the first registration of this car is from 08-01-2003 and chassis 7 is the only car from 2003 of Wevers' Fabias.

Kuipers' car (75-XF-BX) is probably chassis number 14 which was first registered at 08-12-2004. The first rally of this chassis was the rally of New Zealand in 2005. It was impossible for chassis 17 to compete in this rally because its first registration was only 3 days before this rally. Chassis 18 is likely to be registered later than chassis 17.

Kristian Poulsen drove the third Fabia of Wevers sport last weekend at the Dutch ELE rally. The registration number of this car is 54-XG-BZ.

Harry Kleinjan will almost certainly drive the fourth Fabia of Wevers sport in the following dutch rallies. He previously drove a MK1 VW Golf sponsored by Red Bull. I think he will drive chassis no. 17 since this car already has the right colors. This leaves chassis 18 to be Poulsen’s 54-XG-BZ.

This is chassis number 18 which was driven by Duval in Germany and Wales last year. So my hypothesis about chassis no. 17 and 18 earlier in this tread was not right. This means that chassis no. 17 (54-XG-BZ) is driven by Kristian Poulsen.

Donnelly ditches his Subaru for a Skoda
Wednesday, October 17, 2007

By Sammy Hamill

Irish champion Eugene Donnelly goes Skoda for Rally Ireland.

That's the huge shock in the entry list for Ireland's first World Championship round next month.

The Maghera driver, who just a fortnight ago won the Irish Tarmac championship for a record fourth time in a Subaru S12, is switching to a Skoda Fabia for the November 15-18 event, starting at the Stormont estate in Belfast.

He will drive one of the former Czech factory team cars now being developed and prepared by Dutch expert Erik Wevers.

Rumours have been rampant since I revealed last week that Ulster Rally winner Kris Meeke would drive Donnelly's S12 Subaru, which is now owned by former Tarmac champion Derek McGarrity and his DMG team.

What was happening to Donnelly?

In fact, he was at the Corsican round of the World Championship, where Czech driver Jan Kopecky, who has been involved in the deal with Wevers to buy out the Skoda team, finished seventh in one of the little Fabias, effectively the highest placed privateer.

There Donnelly's Skoda deal was 'agreed in principle.'

"There are still a few details to iron out, but yes, all being well I'll be driving a Skoda on Rally Ireland," he confirmed.

"The car will be coming over from Holland next week and we will have a days testing before we go to the Skibbereen round of the Irish national championship on Sunday week.

"After that it will have a new engine, transmission and suspension fitted before Rally Ireland."

Why the switch?

"It is no secret that I have struggled to run the Subaru this year," he said.

"It was a hugely expensive car to buy and just as expensive to run.

"If it hadn't been for Reid Motorsport stepping in I wouldn't have been able to complete the Tarmac series.

"It was never their intention to own a WRC car like that, but they helped me through to the end of the season, even hiring the car back for me for the last round after it had been sold to DMG.

"Again it was no secret that Derek McGarrity wanted Kris Meeke to drive the car on Rally Ireland so we had to look around for alternatives. I could have driven the Subaru S11 which Kris used to win the Ulster Rally, but that would have been a short-term option.

"In the end we decided to go for the Skoda.

"I have known Erik Wevers for a long time and in fact, he was the man behind the Toyota Corollas I used to win my first three Irish Tarmac Championships.

"We had talked about the Skoda option at the end of last year, but he advised me to wait until they'd had the chance to do more development work on the car.

"Well, you saw at the weekend that it goes pretty well. It was Kopecky's first time in Corsica, which is a very specialised rally, and he finished in the World championship points.

"I would be delighted if I could do that on Rally Ireland.

"It has been a bit of a roller-coaster year for me, but I'm happy that I was able to give Prodrive (Subaru) their first Tarmac championship since Derek shared it with me in 2004.

"In fact, they tell me it is the first championship won by an S12 anywhere."

The Ulster International-winning Subaru S11 will now be driven for the DMG team by Meeke's old Suzuki rival from the Junior World championship, Guy Wilks.

Rumours may not be way off the mark...Anyway great entry for Rally Finnskog with ten WRC cars. But Linnerud, Kongsrud and Kvam still with TBA`s
instead of named cars. Great interest to see continued battle between Andreas Mikkelsen and Mads Řstberg, this time on proper winter conditions. Even if some of the stages in Rally Finnskog is very close to Värmland/Sweden the conditions are reported to be much better.

Tord Linnerud is testing his Skoda Fabia WRC 07 today in preparations for Rally Finnskog on saturday. Bernhard Kongsrud is also testing a Fabia - and will be driving Finnskog with the car. Kongsrud is the man behind the purchase of the two Skodas from Kopeckys team. Linnerud has an agreement to drive the rest of 08 in the Fabia, possibly also the 2009 season in the Norwegian championship. The second Fabia is also meant to be available for hire, both i the Norwegian championship and international events.

(Yours truly is looking forward to sampling Fabia-performance on saturday...!)

Please do you know the chassis Nr of the cars?:

KF 81152 for Linnerud

Daniel will maybe drive a "norwegian" Fabia in the Swedish Championship. He will then rent one of the two from Bernhard Kongsrud.

He says that he now are talking with both Kongsrud and Bozian.

shell damage / rollcage damage I would assume

This is still confusing me!

What is the difference between the shell and rollcage?
Latvala's car from Portugal 2009 had a damaged rollcage and that was used again.

If a certain part of the cage structure is damaged, does the car have to be written off?

Mirek
21st April 2010, 19:31
In WRC cars rollcage is firmly welded into the bodyshell and if the rollcage is broken You have to change complete bodyshell with rollcage.

Langdale Forest
21st April 2010, 19:33
Mow much % of the car would a new bodyshell be?
In other cars like PWRC and S2000 cars, is it the same?

Mirek
21st April 2010, 19:49
How much percent of what? Of price, of mass, of solid volume or of number of parts? :)

Yes in S2000 and gr.N it should be same (I wrote should because there is little supervision of what privateers do).

Here is an example of broken rollcage resulting in change of complete bodyshell in frontal crash:

http://rally-mania.cz/img_news/big/7544_ilustracni_foto_7c982f8d2d.jpg

Langdale Forest
21st April 2010, 19:57
Does the bodyshell include the chassis, and what if that gets damaged?

On 'shed bult' rally cars and even on older WRC cars, can the roll cage be replaced without a new bodyshell.

Mirek
21st April 2010, 20:02
Today's cars doesn't have chassis in original meaning (except some off-roads and trucks). They have integral bodyshells without separated chassis frame. So damaged chassis is damaged bodyshell as it's one part.

Langdale Forest
21st April 2010, 20:04
I think we should PM each other now because this is a thread about Skoda, not rollcage damage.
