I'm watching S. Williams vs. Erakovic on Eurosport right now. It's not very exciting, but I do like American gray clay.

The free-to-air tennis coverage in Australia isn't great outside of the Australian Open. Most recent match I watched was Nadal vs Djokovic in the Australian Open final this year. Absolutely insane. I think Djokovic has a really good chance of getting the calendar year grand slam this year, and to be honest I was amazed that it was Federer who stopped him in the French Open last year. Definitely one to watch.

To be honest, I don't believe Djokovic will do the calendar grand slam. It's just such a difficult feat. Obviously, as it hasn't been done since 1969. :)

Nadal is looking stronger than he did in 2011. I'd still expect him to prevail in the French Open and give Novak a tougher time in whatever matches they play. But it obviously depends on whether they will be able to keep up their playing level. Djokovic will almost certainly maintain it, but I'm not so sure about Nadal, as he usually has some ups and downs due to injuries.

I believe that Roger hasn't played the Monte Carlo tournament the last few years, as it's not mandatory to play there, which is not the case with the other tournaments. And after Monte Carlo, Rome, Madrid and the French Open will come, so it looks like this might be the reason why he's decided to skip Monte Carlo. ;)

Well, it seems we're in for (yet another) final between Djokovic and Nadal. Djokovic has been rather inconsistent this week, but he can't be blamed, as his grandfather passed away just one or two years ago and he was the man who introduced Novak to tennis. It can't have been easy for Nole to play against Dolgopolov being told that his grandfather had died just a few hours before the match.

Meanwhile, Nadal hasn't been playing his best tennis either, but it has been enough to get him into the final. While he is the king of clay and all that stuff and he's won seven straight Monte Carlo crowns, I'd still expect Djokovic to mount a touch challenge. Novak might not be at his best this week, but he's still Novak Djokovic and he's managed to beat Nadal in quite a few consecutive matches. I'm expecting Rafa to win, but it's going to be close.

This match was all about Nadal doing his usual moonballing and Djokovic just mentally being somewhere else (for obvious reasons). Djokovic played the worst match he has played for the last 1,5 years.

on the contrary i usually stop watching when the grunting begins. Imo its a big disgrace for the sport and the players.
tbh i think it should be banned since they players themselves admitted that they do it on purpose just to try to psych

I believe that Nadal is the strongest clay-court player that there has ever been. He makes winning Roland Garros look extremely easy, and he's utterly destroying his rivals one after another. Watching his matches on clay becomes boring because there's no emotion at all - he just plays so well that you know that there's only one way the match would finish. He doesn't seem to have any competition whatsoever on clay.

I know it's not the final yet, but he's been destroying Ferrer, and after seeing Novak and Roger's last matches, who would believe that they really have a significant chance of beating Rafa? His level is absolutely ridiculous.

Well, it is Novak vs Rafa on sunday. Hopefully it will be a great match and hopefully Novak will beat Rafa, but tbh, I don't find it that likely. Roland Garros just suits Rafa so well and Novak is not playing as well as he was last year.

Just wanted to say that its great to see Sofia Arvidsson play so well again. She have taken two fine scalps so for this
week in the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. She defated Marion Bartoli in the 2nd round and today she defeated
Maria Kirilenko.w. :beer: Sofia will play Caro Wozniacki on the semi final tomorrow.

Ana Ivanovic and Samatha Stosur will meet in the other semi final. Fingers crossed for a final between Sofia and Ana with Sofia as the winner.
