As a bit of a shocker, Williams have announced that Adam Parr will leave the company at the end of this week. Officially, he leaves "to pursue a better balance in his life". But I wonder what's really happened there...

Just when you think Williams are starting to get everything sorted and are back on the way up... :\

End of this week? That's the F1 equivalent of being fired on the spot without being able to go back to your desk to collect your things.

I wonder what has happened. He was being talked of as the eventual successor to FW. Doubt he has suddenly realised that he needs to spend more time with family.

How strange. Williams' statement of a few weeks ago, while clouded in the usual PR waffle, did seem quite unequivocal in its backing for Parr. Were those just empty words?

Yes, if you were easing yourself into semi-retirement you wouldn't do it without warning 2 races into the season would you.

From another thread:

I'm yet to be convinced that Adam Parr is the right man to lead the team into the future but time will tell.
Spooky  :p

I'm genuinly shocked. Something's gone Pete Tong big time. More to come from this story me thinks.

Some sources say that this has something to do with Parr not getting along with Ecclestone and the Concorde Agreement.

Could be a possibility.

I find it interesting, because last year Head retired for good and recently Frank has been moving more to the background as well. So after a complete overhaul in the technical department Williams is going to have one in team management too.

Maybe Williams need a fresh start in everything.

Odd though the logic the Mole displays is, its the only thing I can think of that can explain this rather bizarre move.

Whatever has happened to the Concorde agreement the main players have all agreed and its the midfield teams like Williams and Sauber that are being mopped up now, with Mercedes sidelined. It'll be interesting to find out what happened, not that we will of course.

Theres no smoke without fire, and even though I'm a huge Williams fan I cant help but think that the Venezuelan connection might have something to do with it:

Alek Boyd: Venezuela: Congressman Carlos Ramos questions Williams F1 (http://alekboyd.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/venezuela-congressman-carlos-ramos.html)

Also I wouldnt be at all surprised if AP had upset BCE; after all he is a smart city type and BCE probably doesnt like anyone who can outsmart him...

It's a long one, that's for sure. Bottom line seems to be that The Mole thinks Parr didn't want to sign the concorde agreement, and is disliked by Bernie, so Bernie persuaded Frank to give Parr the push. Fair summary?

I don't think Frank would want Parr to go considering how much fawning went on in recent months.

I'd thought it would take a lot more than being 'undermined' so soon unless Parr really is a cock with a massive ego.

I don't think Parr's personality had anything to do with it. Parr didn't agree with the terms of the Concorde agreement the team was offered and SFW realised he loved a new Concorde agreement more than he did Parr....

I think it might have been something very personal between Parr and Williams. After all, if it was just about the Concorde Agreement, it would have been simple enough to withdraw Parr as a Williams representative in these talks.

It wouldn't have been that simple as Adam Parr not only would have represented Williams at the talks, he would have decided their policy as CEO and therefore would have been the reason Williams couldn't do a deal with Bernie. SFW is no longer on the board there IIRC so wouldn't have been able to oppose Parr formally within the team. He would have had no choice but to ask for Parr's withdrawal as majority stakeholder (with Head) to facilitate an agreement.

He also took a boat trip

maybe the mole should try to change his writing style if he doesn't want to come across as the slow witted type

Finnish media (http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/f1/uutiset.shtml/2012/04/1527941/bottaksen-manageri-nousemassa-tallipomoksi) are speculating that Toto Wolff might be Adam Parr's replacement at Williams. He owns 15 per cent of the team.

Wolff certainly represented Williams at the talks held in Shanghai about Bahrain...

He's also Valtteri Bottas's manager, so the Finns think this might pave the way for Bottas to have a race seat at Williams in 2013.
