Right at the beginning of the clip for the The Ministry of Silly Walks sketch, Cleese walks out of a newsagent's shop and I noticed that above the door there was a banner for the News Of The World in blue.
The sketch was aired in 1970, which is after Murdoch had acquired it and I know that the paper switched from being a broadsheet to a tabloid in 1984.

What I don't know is if NOTW was a red-top in 1970; so I'm wondering how long it took for Murdoch to really royally ruin the rag.
