A competitve national kart season would be relatively inexpensive with a cost of something like £35,000 or so.

Used karts will run from about £1000 to £7000 or so depending on the class the kart would run in, how old the kart chassis is, what spare parts are included, etc.

A set of tires for a kart are about £200 a set, and a set will remain generally competitive for about 40 km.
Engine refresh needs to be done about every 10 hours or so of run time. Figure an engine refresh will cost £400 and up.
Kart seats are a consumable item requiring frequent replacement at about £200 each.
