425bhp, 6L, V8.
It's faster and accelerates harder than a BMW M3.

Ok, it's a tad expensive at £51,500 but if you use it as a commercial vehicle you get back the 20% VAT (£8583) and so the net price is just £42,917.
America could have had it but because GM closed down Pontiac, it never got the Pontiac G8 ST.

I'm wondering if Vauxhall will ever import the 3L V6 variant. I don't think so but maybe Ireland might get it if Opel decide they want it.

A performance pickup Vauxhall?? That's totally insane! Why on earth would you buy that??

Because it does the standing quarter in 11.4s and from 0-60mph in 4.4s

I have thought about buying a the 3L variant and using it to go camping in. The Ute tray at the back fits me lying down with ample space to spare at either end and I'm 6ft tall.

Those Austrailian cars took years to get to the US and when they did they were overpriced so no one bought them. GTOs (Monaros) sold for next to nothing if you could find one, and the same happened to the G8 (sedan). Now there's a local option with the (completely hideous) Camaro.

I had heard rumors of this coming to the States. It was going to be the new El Camino. Guess it died when Pontiac did. Although I'm not sure why, the original El Camino was a Chevy not a Pontiac. Who knows what GM is thinking. They probably aren't. That's probably why they're bankrupt.

*to the tune of jingle bells*

Dashing through the bush,
in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust,
Esky in the boot...

We are not lacking for fast trucks over here, a friend of mine has one of these and the thing is stupid fast.
He has a hard top for the bed.
Another friend just bought a new Jeep Ribicon Unlimited very versitile and can be turned into a two seater semi convertible. Its is a great off road vehicle but it is not really fast. @ $37,000USD It is a very nice package as he has his loaded.
The El camino and Ranchreo are ancient history. Forget about them unles your into restoration
Nice rig there that Vaxhaul
Its not something I'd want to take where we go off road up in here though!

Hard to say how the US market would have liked it. Most performance based trucks form lines at the dealers though, so I suspect the fact that it's not quite a normal "truck" by US standards wouldn't have hurt much.

I don't think GM has a clue what to do in the US these days. They are pushing cars like the Volt and proving that their vision for how much people would want it was flawed.

Dont see vauxhall inporting this ute from Australia,as I dont see a market for it in the UK.Australia has more utes than any other country I have been in.And WHY can red L and green L platers allowed to use this fast ute, then have lots of accidents?

I don''t think there'd be many more than a couple of dozen a year ever imported but that isn't to say that they won't do it.
Vauxhall VXR - Performance forged on the racetrack (http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/microsite/vxr/vxr8/clubsport-and-maloo.html)

People have bought machines like the Megane RS Trophy and the Focus RS500 in the past and they're equally as bonkers. The regular Focus RS comes in the colour of radioactive snot as an option as well.

The Raptor is a nice off road truck. They are really the first ones to do it right. Most companies stick some skid plates and a slight lift on a truck and call it the "off road" edition.

There are several Raptors in this area. They need to do a blower motor version though. Better yet, but the big block blower motor in the new Lightning. :D

Alarm System Costs makes a difference. We all wanted to look for an Affordable Alarm Systems. But even though we wanted to stay away from the expensive types, it is never wise that we choose the cheapest brand. It may affect the quality and you never want to own an automobile Alarm System that do not function well. It's never wise to do that. You are, in fact, just wasting money in the process. My little brother has a 2009 Pontiac G8, and its a very nice car. My 2012 Mustang GT blows his doors off, but at least he's getting torched in style
