Hi I am 17 nearly 18, I am trying to start my career in Motorsport engineering. I have mailed a few racing teams and had a response from one, met at the unit and had a chat and spoke about voluntary work this year. I don't mind the voluntary work as it is something you have to do to get into motorsport. I haven't had a reply from them for over a month now and beginning to have doubts and have been sending them emails every now and then asking if they needed help at the unit before the season start. Is it easier to go to a race weekend and walk to the paddock and offer help to the teams for the weekend and then possibly they may ask for help another time if I show I'm good enough. Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance.
