Even not part of national or regional championship.........

It's not only about the length of the stages... Also moving the whole team to another continent costs a lot of money... But that makes it a World Championship...

A World Championship is made of the nationality of the involved drivers, not where it's held.

On the other hand he's in good company with Sainz and Loeb, assuming skis are the equivalent of bikes in Finland.

Getting deals for broadcasters is one thing, getting the amount of money that was once there to pay for luxuries such as Live television I'm sure is a completely different thing.

I guess it's like the IRC - some of the Organisers can afford to pay for Live TV, some can't.

Disagree. The deal should of course contain live broadcasting in it from the beginning. Money raised should be in agreement from the beginning if so FIA had to pay themselves.
Organizer shouldn´t have the responsibility to put money for that.

In an interview at wrc.com, Latvala says that "Petter will be fighting for the victory" and Sordo "has all the possibilities to be on the podium".
The comparison between both driver's pace will be very interesting. Sordo's future in the team might depend (at least on a percentage) of it. He has offered himself to the team: "Of course I would like to continue with them next year". Who won't after this year's nightmare with Prodrive.

It's expected only some snow, as it was last year in Wales. BTW, it would be very interesting this rally scheduled in winter (the same as Finland), at least once.

I can't wait for the start of the rally. The point will be if Sordo can keep his Portugal's pace. His future could depend on it. Portugal's exhibition has given him this opportunity, another one could give him a full program for the next year. His running order on the first day might be the key to a good result. The worst thing that could happen if he reaches the end of the rally would be yielding the position to his teammate, again. But let's go day by day.

Solberg will reach the lead of the Championship if Loeb continues having the same mistakes/problems of the end of the last season and the start of the present one. Something has happened to him in five of the last eight events (we can also count the Germany's puncture which gave Ogier the victory).

I believe that there could well be team orders from MW given Petter Solbergs current championship standings. Of course, if Petter has some disasterous issue then Sordo will have free reign to `go for it`. He will no doubt respect Fords wishes if he thinks it will enhance his career prospects for 2013. You're right. More than that, in Algarve it hadn't rained for months. However, Mikko has said this after the recce: "We’ve just finished a massive three-day recce here in Argentina. The roads are really rough and so much softer than in previous years".
Another problem was the fog: "It’s also been more than tricky with all the fog – you can sometimes only see 10 metres in front of you and when it’s a new stage it’s very difficult to make pace notes". We all know what a bad note could mean for a driver...

Loeb is in TV-commercials because he's won eight championships. Mikko started doing the videos he uploads to his Youtube's account because he won't win any championship.

I think these videos are made by Citroen. They can be found on Citroen racing’s web page.

If so it will be quite ironic. . . the QS was meant to help the top drivers not be disadvantaged by starting first on the road, however in the last 2 rallies it seems first on the road is the place to be!

It is helping the top drivers not being disadvantaged. Now they have the freedom of choice and sometimes it's best to start first also on gravel. We'll see.

"Petter Solberg opted to run on Michelin’s hard compound tyre, which provided less grip in the slippery conditions. “I wanted to take care of the [soft] tyres for the rally if it’s raining,” said the Norwegian, who was fourth quickest. “It was very slippery in there with a lot of mud and rain now. Although I dont think he is faster than Loeb it would be nice for Solberg to win

Well if he's not faster he will not win....or??

What is really being faster? Fast in a stage, over an loop of stages or the one who uses the least amount of time over the rally??

Refuel truck did not make it to refuel, meaning no fuel for rally cars. Causing a delay in Argentina at the moment.

How on earth could that result in an hour delay, so that Loeb got the rain he wanted?

you would like Loeb to sweep the unrained road and Petter to be ok with no sweeping due to rain?

The rain cleared twenty minutes ago, starting again at the time Loeb got onto the stage.

The stage has 37 km. I doubt it's same for all stage ;) It was clear that rain is going to come so Loebs choice was logic, not any kind of magic.
