Solowow rolls his Fiesta WRC during test in Antilla. Will he start?

If it had not been fixable, he would have bought a new one, would'nt he ? :)

Apparently it will be Finish company Filmworks that will make the TV-images for Rally Sweden and will make it available for all party's abroad. All this according to rallye-magazine.de.
Good news after all. :D

Really good news that some one will do some filming for television.Pity that the rally organisers have had to organise this them selves. How much money is Quatar throwing at Citroen ?

Next question is, can the rest of the events afford these kind of TV arrangements. And by the sound of it, propably not. Even the Swedes are playing a bit of hardball by going for it.

Olsson has bravely gone ahead with a full TV production from Sweden, though he does not have the money to cover it. He's looking for support from all sides.

He says it is impossible for each promoter to do an individual TV deal themselves: it won't produce the product the teams and organisers want.

If Rally Sweden can´t get paid for the TV-production covering the costs, then we can´t expect to see any TV-coverage at all in the future.

Anyone wondered how much money FIA have on banking accounts? I think it is well enough to fund the media part in WRC for a time on.

As long as there is ice on stages it's not a big problem.

They did the swedish part of the rally on tuesday.

Recceing in Norway today. A total of appr. 120 km SS-disance will be run on norwegian stages during friday. Conditions are absolutely perfect, as they were during Rally Finnskog last saturday. A thick ice layer on the roads, not very high snowbanks, but still enough to use as a "support" in some corners. Rally Finnskog was run in the same area as they will be using coming friday, but of course not on the same roads. There will be a TV-broadcast from Finnskog this evening on Viasat in Norway, and you will also be able to click into Injection.no - bilsportens nett tv - bilsport - rally - rallycross - bakkeløp - racing - gokart - Velkommen (http://www.injection.no) to wiew it tonight.

To my mind, if you post this kind of jobs, you have to say the source. Although you're not saying that you did it, it looks like. At least you're receiving likes which aren't yours. I don't know where you found it, but it was done by a Galician (Spanish) guy whose nick is pablichor (as the image's link you've posted says: //i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m495/pablichor/Rally%20Sweden/pm2.jpghttp://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m495/pablichor/Rally%20Sweden/pm2.jpg). He writes in Forocoches, a Spanish forum. He has also done the same collage with 1968-1988 winners, even a better work. He did the same composition before last Monte Carlo, spending many hours, like this time. Render to Caesar the things which are Caesar's.

Now that you have chosen this approach I wonder if all these images are taken by pablichor? As I don't see him giving any credits to the original photographers whose pictures he is using in his collage?

I bumped on the collage browsing the net-ocean,
liked it and just wanted to share it to a wider audience.
That's it. I made no claim to be the autor of it.
Because there was no source mentioned I just could not think of one.
You can review all my posts and see that I always gave a link to the source of information.
I always point out the creators of every article posted or pasted by me.
Yet it is their valuable work, as you say.

P.S. A good work by the autor of the collage. Bravo!

Personally, I believe that he deserves be mentioned for searching all the photographs, putting them together and writing the names of both driver and codriver. We can see those photograhs in a few seconds, but he spent hours choosing them. Sorry if it was an affront to you or to danon.
P.S. Everything is done before us, we only redo and undo.

The list of entrants for the 2012 FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers has been updated. It includes three manufacturer entries and four WRC Team entries.

Citroen Total World Rally Team, Ford World Rally Team and WRC Team MINI Portugal are registered as manufacturer entries. Adapta World Rally Team, Citroen Junior World Rally Team, M-Sport Ford World Rally Team and Qatar World Rally Team are all registered as WRC Teams.

WRC Team MINI Portugal has elected not to score manufacturers’ points. However, all other entrants will be eligible for makes’ points on the remaining 12 rounds of the series, starting from this week’s Rally Sweden.

There has also been a reclassification of the manufacturers’ championship points following Rallye Monte-Carlo. MINI WRC Team keeps the 26 points it scored on the season-opener although it is no longer classified as a manufacturer entrant.

The points scored by Armindo Araujo World Rally Team and Palmeirinha Rally have been removed as these entrants have been incorporated under the WRC Team MINI Portugal umbrella.

The final registration date for WRC Teams planning to contest the FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers is 27 March 2012.

I think Quali should be only for the wrc cars. Difference between 14th and 22nd will not be big but he can end up being first (or one of the first) on the road, then it will be 25-30 cars back to teammate Mikkelsen.

Important point. Not only would you want the right road position. It has to be right in relation to getting known lines in front of you. You want some of the faster drivers, in front you. Not so easy to do if you pick your spot first.

According to the regulations:
Competitors will choose their start position for the rally according to the results of the Qualifying stage.
30.8.1 The fastest driver will choose his position first, then the second, followed by the third etc.
That means all P1 and P2 drivers to me.

I've read that about James, from 1995 to 2002. Chris Rames has been working for World Rally Radio. This is what the WRR site says:

I´m so glad there´s no tactics involved, just pure driving. Oh, wait a minute..

Wilson's driver Jari-Matti Latvala set the fastest time on the 2.4-mile qualifying stage and will now select his position on the road first of all the priority drivers at this evening's ceremonial start.

There are concerns that some of Ford and Citroen's customer cars could be slotted in ahead of the main protagonists.

The significant competitive action starts with the event's longest stage - the 17-mile Mitandersfors test - tomorrow morning. It's possible Latvala and the other leading drivers could make up the two-minute gap between them and some tactically placed customer cars.

"If that starts to happen," said Wilson, "we'll have to respond. We're here to win the rally – it's that simple. There's a lot to think about. We have a meeting at five o'clock to consider our options."

Ironically, the qualifying stage was introduced to try and alleviate the tactical approach being taken, with crews slowing down on the stages to drop time and jockey for a position further down the order on the following day.

It won't be very much of a disadvantage to run first on the road tomorrow. The stages in Norway are,as previously mentioned, in perfect condition. No forecast for snow tomorrow, so no loose conditions for early runners. Choosing of starting order will be tactical, but conditions will not be very different for anyone between no1 and no20.

Anybody else but me think its crazy stupid when the starter stands right in front of a running car holding that stick that they use to show the driver when to stop? It seems so dangerous.

It's rally. They used to count with fingers at the start of SS.

Good morning, and that on the day of the year the World Rally Circus will visit the home of the Vikings !!

Seeing the cars dancing on the frozen white stuff is the peak of the year for me !

Are we going to have splits today ?

Really surprised by the choice of starting positions today. I thought Latvala would position himself somewhere around 8-12. Instead the main players are all bunched up from 15 onwards. Could sleep a few minutes longer this morning,;-) of course...

Nobre is still running but he has obviously a little off to the snowbanks.

So far so good. This sport needs local heroes, though Mads' isn't totally useless on other fast gravel road rallies either.

Ott said codriver was late with pacenote...

That reminds me that when Tänak started driving with Sikk (Aava's former codriver) local fans were somewhat hesitant as many Aava's mistakes were said to be actually due to Sikk mistakes but he was chosen due to his experience in international scene comparing to Ott's former codriver(s).
