"It looks like having tantrums and stamping your feet gets you your own way? See latest Tech bulletin for BTCC."
Looks like more turbo restrictions this week. Hope JP enjoys lapping the slower teams..

erm that comment was from AmD not me. Even the other teams are getting bored of the tantrums and rule changes.
Is it not hard enough for teams like AmD to compete as it is without further boost reductions to please Plato?

Andrew, you ruined your own point with your bad arguments.
Andrew, you ruined your own point with your bad arguments.
I think arguments are his point, he's absolutely becoming obsessed and quite boring, quite comical really as he's making a fool of himself !!
and what's with all this "other Teams" comments, unless of course he's a member of one of the "other Teams" !!

A few tweets from the last few minutes tonight:
RM6MotorSport:
"So the btcc has made another boost reduction for the turbo cars @Tom_ChiltonBTCC (http://twitter.com/Tom_ChiltonBTCC) so Plato starts crying and Alan gow jumps #platocrysagain (http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23platocrysagain)"
TomOnslowCole:
"FML, more boost reductions?! Soon all we'll be left with is the lack of engine braking, heavy cornering and difficult traction! #BoredNow (http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23BoredNow)"
TomOnslowCole:
"Hahaha, I've been trying to get Knockhill cancelled (too technical) and replaced with Santa Pod but Al's not having it @jasonplato (http://twitter.com/jasonplato)"
Ricker666:
"Personal opinion, #btcc (http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23btcc) this season is becoming a sit com, how is equal changing cars so many times in a season? Becoming ludicrous"
Unlap:
"More restrictions for the turbo cars then! I feel sorry for the smaller teams! #BTCC (http://twitter.com/#%21/search?q=%23BTCC)"
"Just seen that the Jason Plato rule changes for this weekend have been released. Getting bored of this now. May consider giving BTCC a miss after Croft"

How many times does it need saying? All of this moaning about Jason Plato's stance on the matter is irrelevant. The imposition of equivalency is an absurd concept, but that's what TOCA promised, and that was the basis on which Chevrolet, TechSpeed and WSR entered normally-aspirated cars. The sooner the BTCC goes all-turbo the better, so as to avoid such a mess happening again. But until then, the promise was made, and should be kept. I don't like it, but that's the way it is, and the way it should be.

And everyone is forgetting that the only alternative was an all-NA series! A turbo only series is impossible until 2013. If any set of cars are to lag behind it should be the turbos. The promise that S2000 engined cars would be the main category in BTCC until 2013 was made long before turbos were even on the horizon. Everyone seems to forget that this isn't a turbo v NA to see which type of engine is the best format. It's not that because because both types of engine are strictly regulated. Its about a balance in performance of the rules rather than the cars. Allowed to run an unrestricted two-litre engine, turbo or not, the power figures would be in excess of 500bhp, not the 300ish currently.

I suppose it could happen by default next year, couldn't it, if no team decides to run a normally-aspirated car?

I would consider myself a big fan of the BTCC, but with this going on it's more and more appealing to follow the WTCC for now. At least I know where everyone is regarding engines (well, just about...)
Alfa Fan - you've hit the nail on the head in saying that if any cars are supposed to lag behind it's the turbos. For crying out loud, Triple Eight didn't even develop their engines, whereas Chevrolet and RML did - so who should be reaping more of the rewards there!?

This is absolutely disgusting. Never ever in my life I have seen a series ruled by a single man like this. I think that things will continue to be like this, until RML dominates the BTCC like the WTCC. I'm speechless with disgust.
I hope that Honda wins triple double and RML retire in all races. So sad to see my new favorite championship (I started watching in the winter) butchered like this :(

The answer to that is surely 'whichever performs best' should reap more of the rewards, but such is the situation with the equivalency that we have no idea which package is actually the best, because the playing field is so uneven.
