Will both titles be decided between Ferrari and McLaren? After race one it looks quite logical. The last time, when these two legendary teams decided the title purely between themselves without any third party getting involved, was in 2000. So after seven years we are back in the same era. But after some thought it can be realized that although the teams are the same, then a lot has changed in them during those years! Significant change in team personnel, drivers line-up and even colour theme. Simplistically said only engine and team principals (Todt and Dennis) have remained the same. So they are true top teams - even in spite of changes able to stay at the top!
But what disappointed me in the first race and made the race a bit boring, was that the gaps were awfully big. Third team - BMW - lost already nearly 40 secs, Renault a full minute, others even more than a lap. Will the scenario this season be again the same as in many previous years (1991-1996, 1998, 2005, 2006) that two teams win all the races but one and that one odd win, that goes to someone third, will be a lucky one? But after such first race we can only hope that BMW, Renault, but also why not Toyota and Honda can close the gap and create some more mess there in front.
