Unknown hackers have broken into the security networks of Lockheed Martin Corp and several other U.S. military contractors, a source with direct knowledge of the attacks told Reuters.
They breached security systems designed to keep out intruders by creating duplicates to "SecurID" electronic keys from EMC Corp's RSA security division, said the person who was not authorized to publicly discuss the matter.
It was not immediately clear what kind of data, if any, was stolen by the hackers. But the networks of Lockheed and other military contractors contain sensitive data on future weapons systems as well as military technology (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43199200/ns/technology_and_science-security#) currently used in battles in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Weapons makers are the latest companies to be breached through sophisticated attacks that have pierced the defenses of huge corporations including Sony, Google Inc and EMC Corp. Security experts say that it is virtually impossible for any company or government agency to build a security network that hackers will be unable to penetrate.

One of the comments to the story was very telling :

I'm not surprised at all myself, I was working at Honeywell until they decided they wanted to outsource my job there, and they were all ready over a year ago having major meetings with around 600 Chinese engineers on a large scale with the CEO to get involved in their public aviation system.
Nice work there Cote, thanks for canning me for no reason other than your HR 25 year old types said it would be more efficient to outsource the work over Senior Engineers standing up in meetings disagreeing , and yes I was very vocal at the time about a company that was producing top secret weapons in house working hand in hand with China prior to me getting laid off.
This type of crap in the military complex is more or less compromising our country even more for profits over the long haul, but I'm almost too fed up with it to care anymore.
They probably had one of the Chinese they were recruiting just go into the system directly these days without even having to bother hacking.

I have met the enemy and he is us....................

Outsourcing military research to China?! That is more than stupid, it's incredibly stupid. :rotflmao:

If they broke into the data to do with the F-35 Lightning II, then they'd find allsorts of reasons why it's been delayed, failed and not delivered.
The RAAF was supposed to have taken delivery of 25 of then by 2012, but it now appears as though they won't see their first one until 2020.

It actually might be a good thing if it had been the Chinese who stole the data. They at least night be able to deliver equipment on time and under budget; that's somethng which Lockheed-Martin is sorely lacking in ability to do.

Lockheed will have to get the Transportation security people to 'pat' the outsourced workers down on arrival and departure from the place of work and x-ray them twice a day etc

But it was still a smart move and improvement compared to that inbred GWB they had before.Well between your statement and donkeys we have dumb and dumber so you must be sell acquainted with this inbred stuff first hand.

It was Clinton that gave the Chinese the computers that fixed their ballistic missile guidance problems so this is just more of the same.

Not as stupid as people in this country still believing that capitalism is, and will continue to be the savior of this nation.

Brooks Adams was right, private industry (AKA corporate greed & power) will be the downfall of our empire.

I doubt there are any Chinese nationals working on the project. I know they are not allowed to work on anything sensitve in Aus so I would guess it would be the same in the USA

ROFL!
Ja sure, you bet.

Try elaborating instead. It might justify your response.

Better yet, if you - or anyone else for that matter - is capable of initiating a thread of... oh, I don't know, say Capitalism vs. Marxism, well hey, fire that punk up and let's go.

Marxism is not a perfect ideology. It's not going to be on several scopes. But capitalism, all it does is promote greed and corruption. And as we've all noticed over the last 50 years or so... including environmental destruction.

So by all means Bob, do continue. I'm curious as to what you've got to say.

Let's see, you make a statement without proofs of any sort, yet you want the system you attack, be defended, when you cannot defend your own rhetoric, ja sure. A Street Hustler tactic.

Plus those who have the power have no way of losing it.
What a brilliant set-up.
There is only one thing worse than chaos, Marxism.

History has made the point that Capitalism, for all its faults, on its worst day, is better than either Marxism or socialism, both of which are the chosen few rule the masses.

Hmm, It's funny how an "unchosen few" were able to ransom the US People to bail out the Automakers to the tune of billions of dollars and how Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley also did so.

You'd rather be ruled by an unchosen and unregulated few?

The Dem. were in cahoots with some of Wall Street settting up this cluster-f, but we can kick the Dem. out of office and deal with Wall Street later.

Sorry Bob, it wasn't only you I was hoping to hook line-and-sinker on that issue. Considering some other remarks I received about Marxism from some other American, who presumably fought in Viet Nam, I was assuming that the response would be of greater content, other than from one who clearly has no has no clue beyond his own borders.

Like I mentioned before, if you think you're capable of disputing Marxism - or promoting capitalism - then by all means do so. Otherwise I will gladly assume your submission.
