Hubby said we could stop at some tracks on our way to see the kids. We will be going from Florida to Western Michigan. We won't be there to see any races but need to know if there is anything of interest to see at any of them.

Well Talladega has the museum and International Motorsports Hall of Fame, and Darlington has the Joe Weatherly stock car racing museum and the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of fame. I've been to both and loved it, but then of course I'm a race fan. I have also been to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and loved it too. It's not Nascar oriented of course. Also, I like to look at tracks and facilities anyway, because they interest me So for me I'll stop at any track I might be near and check it out, so you can't go wrong anywhere in my book. I have also been to Charlotte, Daytona, Rockingham, Concord, Myrtle Beach, Bristol, Nashville Fairgrounds, Memphis, and Atlanta.

The trip to Indy is the best thing anyone can see in the midwest really. The 5 bucks a head the Indy Museum charges is a bargain. Also to see the sheer scale of the place.....I have been to Daytona and Daytona's museum and show place, but Indy is just historical. It is isn't flashy..but you realize just how old racing is in that part of the world.

Most race tracks really don't offer up much of anything other than the track itself. If you gamble, I suppose you can go visit the Monster in Dover and then lose some money at the Casino! My wife is a big fan of that...lol..and you can cross the Chesapeake Bay/Bridge Tunnel system to get over to the Delmarva.....

Bristol is a good option as well. Try to get inside the track to take a look if you've never been there before, but they have a little museum there as well that is relatively new.

I agree with Mark...Indy should be a stop just for the museum alone.

When are you going to be in W. Michigan? They are still planning on having a Cup race on Father's Day @ MIS...I know...they sent my tickets a few weeks back! :)

Indianapolis is a must stop, the museum is only $5 to get in to and just being at the speedway is spectacular. Bristol would be cool to see and if your up here in Michigan on Father's day weekend stop in at MIS it's a pretty great facility too.
