Looks like we've got another fuel protest on our hands. Might all blow over but you never know:

Fuel protesters are staging a go-slow on major routes towards Cheshire's Stanlow oil refinery, where they plan to impose a blockade.

About 150 vehicles have arrived at the plant and failed to stop two tankers from entering.

Police officers kept protesters back to allow the tankers through.

About 450 lorry drivers, farmers and motorcyclists are still travelling in 20mph convoys towards the plant.

Organiser Ian Charlesworth said their aim was to get the government to reduce fuel tax duty by 24p a litre.

It would take a lot to make me feel sorry for this government, but being held to ransom by heads-in-the-sand fuel protesters would just about manage it.

Bring it on! Last time there was a protest I was the only car on the road ;)

Certainly naive, they'll never reduce fuel duty, or if they do they'll tag it onto something else.
