The thermometer outside my kitchen window says 46 C, and a bumblebee is flying in my garden. It's of course in sunshine, the shadow temperature is about 20 C.

Indeed, it's a pleasant day today. I might even go for a short walk soon.

What tyre compounds are run in Finland during the 'summer' ? Will different compounds be sought this year ?
Eki
25th April 2011, 13:27
Just regular tyres. I don't what their compounds are, probably the same as in New Zealand 'summer'.

Well, I still run my bicycle on "winter setup", the 28mm wide Vittorias wont come off until all of the sand is brushed from bike lanes. :)

I'm supposed to be going to watch how other people do slushplaning tests.
Our own Lappland winter tests finished a couple of weeks ago... the day before rain melted all the snow :)

Well we have had sixty degree days but the the fabric I pulled off of a flower bed was still frozen to the the ground in places and it snowed a couple of inches last week.
I do not mind this weather at all but I like to plant long term heirloom types corn, and unless we get another long fall it can get chancy that the corn will not fully mature.

Actually you are correct; back in 1992 up here in the summer the thermometer never got out of the low seventies until the first week of September (Sixties were common as were ovenights in the low fifities) and I loved it.
Hard on the tomato garden but I could adjust.

I love summer in SoCal.
I've already waxed my board, seen the twins' make their regular appearances, and short-shorts are back!
