That's what the man wants and he has earned the right to do whatever he wants.

I agree with you Sparky, however I will miss him. :s
Seeing how well he is doing in the points I thought he would reconsider ... :s

I know Stan. It's hard to wrap your mind around it. He's been doing everything others asked him to do for so many years it's time for him to do what he wants to do. I think it's amusing that he's doing so well with such a new team. I hope it makes Jack want to eat his hat. :D

I still think that if Mark leads the points after tomorrows race he will be at Bristol. He would be pretty stupid not to be in my opinion.

i agree, that he is stupid, what about Ginn? what about the team that has won every pit crew challenge this year, working so hard? do they not also deserve the championship?

Not stupid. In a predicament.
As stated, he's been doing what others want for a long time, he's excited to do what he wants.
He didn't think he'd be running well and that this would even be an issue, being in the top 10, let alone leading the points.
Now, as a fan I will be very disappointed if he is not at Bristol. Angry probably. But at least I'll know why, and after a while understand.
I just don't think there's a winning situation here for Mark to make him happy and us. :(

How can anyone call mark martin stupid. The guy has put in "more" than a full and successful career. The agreement was that he would run a partial schedule and that is what he is doing. Roush took advantage of him and Mark helped Roush out. Ginn will not pressure Mark to do something that he does not want to do.

Agreed, muggles. He's not stupid. The man is just doing what he wants to do. Mark is the best racer out there who never won a championship. He's also a true gentleman. I'm happy that he found the perfect situation for himself. We should all be so lucky.

I've was looking at last year, and saw this interesting bit.
Matt Kenseth led the points last year after Richmond averaging approx. 146 points per race.
Greg Biffle was 12th averaging approx. 117 points per race.
Mark right now is averaging 157 points per race.
There was a 746 point differential between the leader and 12th.
Technically, Matt could have missed 5 races and still been 12th in points and qualified for the chase using this years rules.
Using the same average finish, Matt could have missed 3 races last year, and still have finished 10th in the standings and qualified for the chase.
Just some food for thought.

Mark is allowed to do what he likes. He wants to run a part schedule. good on him.
Makes a better championship this way :)
