whats still gonna be the excuse

good time by Conway, but as per usual, its lookin like the Ganassi/Penske vs everyone else, hopefully RHR and Conway can mix it up with them for the race

Bourdais can't be very happy 1.3 seconds off the pace.

Wow. Nice to see Conway up there. Hope he keeps it going. Also nice to se RHR there. Hopefully they (or at least someone) will be able to keep Penske and Ganassi honest this year.

He's been out of it a while though so could take some time...he'll be faster come race day

There are so many new combinations (drivers, teams, engineers) it will be interesting to see who picks up the most speed over the weekend. Kanaan, Bourdais and Rahal are of particular interest.

Hoping Hilderbrand figures some stuff out, too.

Check out Andretti Racing - 3 in the top 10 - not bad after the past couple of seasons..... big surprise from Conway It will be interesting to see how it really shakes out in qualifying.... Looks like all of the ladies need to kick it up a notch (Danica looks pretty slow relative to her teammates....)

Ana has no business in an Indycar, hope Canon selling out on HVM hasn't killed the good things Simona had going last year, and Danica is ALWAYS slow relative to her teammates (and the rest of the field for that matter).

Great job RHR and Mike Conway to start the season. I hope they can continue it this weeklend. Simona in last, hard to say after one practice session, but I think she is really going to miss having Cannon as her engineer.

The Autosport article said E.J. had crashed towards the end of the session. Picked up from where he left off last year I see.

autosport:

EJ Viso was the quickest KV driver in eighth but also had the morning's only incident, when he crashed on the exit of Turn 3 in the final moments.

HVM has all new cars this year and lost Cannon, so they may struggle until they find what the new car needs.
