So,

Mikey fails to make another race

Robby loses his motorola sponsorship.

which operation closes it's doors first?

I don't know if MWR will survive but Robby Gordon will. He didn't lose Motorola. The Daytona Sopranos won't allow Motorola to be the primary on his car but they are still an associate sponsor.

I think Mikey will no longer be an owner, he needs someone else to do that job. then he'll get fired

I think that Motorola deal is very stupid, considering Sprint/Nextel, mainly use Motorola phones with the service. its nascar's way of trying to keep Robby from succeeding.

i agree that that was a poor call, and i rarely disagree with NASCAR after my own rationalizations. I cannot see any reason why they would want to screw Robby over, though.

All I know is that as of Texas Motor Speedway, we will likely not see much more of Dale Jarrett. (Was he upset at RYR? How upset must he be now? Maybe he can talk his way back into the 88, which must seem like nothing but a beautiful memory)

Will Mikey make another race? Maybe not until talladega, maybe never...

At least Reutimann seems to be doing OK, but he is way out of the top 35.

At least Robby is sitting in 14th in the points standings, not somewhere in the negative... but we all know Robby can't get a break from NASCAR ever. (Yeah I know he sorta brings it on himself.)

Reading the title, I thought the topic is about the Mikey vs. Robby clash a couple of years ago. When Robby got wrecked and he said of live television something like 'people think that Michael is a nice guy, but we all see that he's full of [bad word]'. If I remember well, that incident involved a flying helmet too.

If Waltrip is smart (?) he'll offset some of his failing his sponsor and pay Robby to put 'NAPA' on his hood this weekend.

Nascar is taking the blame on this Motorola thing, but I have a feeling some Nextel exec made the call. With all the business Motorola does with Nextel I wonder if someone high up in Motorola calls someone high up in Nextel and the problem goes away in a couple of days. On the other hand, maybe the AT&T lawsuit today, forced Nascar to take a hardline on Motorola or weaken their defense against AT&T.

On the Motorola deal, don't expect this to stay on the racetrack. I also expect it to be resolved. Motorola is going to expect an answer from sprint and if they don't like what they hear, Sprint might find themselves without their major phone supplier. My guess is that this is a misunderstanding based on Verizon's sponsorship
in the busch series.

Fortune Brands will stay as Robby's big sponsor. There are some races where Jim Beam or Moen Faucets is not the primary sponsor. But for now, it looks as if Fortune Brands is the only primary sponsor on the car.

He lost Harrah's as a byproduct of it being sold in a leveraged buyout. The money spent on racing is now going to the LBO artists to buy out the company.

As for the #44 and DJ, if the team stays in the Top 35, he doesn't have to worry about another provisional, since he would become exempt as of Martinsville.

Harvick, you usually make good sense at times, but NASCAR keeping Robby from succeeding? Hardly, the only thing hurting Robby Gordon is that he is ROBBY GORDON. He has a 10 cent head that usually does him in. I have to admit, I have never been a fan of the guy, but for someone to own a NASCAR team and still behave as he does, it is clear to me that no one needs to sabotage Robby, he finds a way to get himself into trouble all on his own.

I suppose that jarrett can't be regretting his move too badly, as the 88 is only four spots ahead of him...

Too bad Jarrett will waste all of his CP, as Mikey could take over the 44's owners points, and Jarrett could continue to use is CP to get into top 35 after bristol, reuitmann is doing ok on his own.

I like mikey, i think he is a nice guy, but he is slick, and seems to be a salesman first, so i don't know about his legitamacy

He brings it on himself because he refuses to suck up to NASCAR. They can't make him into a robotic clone like they have with the others. Somebody doesn't like seeing the #7 in 14th place and only 12 points out of the top ten.

How about Bill Davis with Mayfield, 4 races, 4 DNQ's Toyota started in a deep rut and it only got worse. hopefully Vickers can get a top 20 and be in the top 35 so Red Bull has one car in

Yea, Mayfield has gotten shafted. Not that he was that good of a driver in the 19 for a few years now...

I wonder how many DNQs it will take before Jermy starts badmouthing his current car owner.

I've been thinking. Yes I know that can be a dangerous thing ;-) Thing may actually get a little easier for the Toyota teams in the naxt few races. Three of the next four races are CoT and short (mile or less) tracks. Most of the claimed problems from the Toyota camps are AERO! Short tracks lessen the problem, CoT is "suppose to" eliminate it.
Also as bad as it may seem, once the new points kick in, they should have an easier time of qualifing. Right now the improved Ginn teams are kicking their rears. Come Martinsville in April, Front Row Joe and Sterling as well as J Sauter will probably have 'top 35' starting spots. Which means the Wood Bros Schrader/Wood, Riggs & ? will probably have dropped out of 'top 35', and I think they will have a better shot at qualifing then. Races 6-8 are critical, if they haven't starting doing well by then, they're probably Upshift Creek for the rest of the year.
