Love them or hate them tattoo can range from amazing peices of art work to what some would call a tramp stamp. I quite enjoy watching shows like Miami Ink and LA Ink and think some of the tattoos featured are brilliant. As much as I think some designs are amazing I dont think that I would ever be that way inclined to get a tattoo. I cant quite comprehend the notion of wanting or liking something enough to have in permanently on my body.

I was listening to the radio this morning and heard about the girl in the article linked below. I automatically thought oh dear she's 16 and has got a tramp stamp already. When I got home I just had to google it. She's a 16 year old girl from cardiff that now has a tattoo saying '100% welsh lamb' just above her bum as a result of a dare and regrets it already.

Well it all started out well - the pretty women got a small butterfly on the their back. But then the fat bitches started tattooing jack daniels on their ankles. Some of the nicer men's tattoos are done my artists but many come from Billy Bob's at trailer trash headquarters. The above referenced is garbage - she may as well got a pointing arrow that says "Enter Here" BTW I don't have one and won't be getting one. I suspect ioan has a picture of Michael Schumacher tattooed somewhere on his body. :)

Body piercings/art or tramp stamps is something I've never really understood why people feel the need to get them. My partners daughter (14) has recently hinted that she would like a tattoo, both of us cringe at the thought and hope she grows out of the idea.

There must be people on here with one of the above, I'd really like to understand why you have them.. is it to belong to a group.. Birds of a feather thing? or is it more of a display of your individuality? Just curious..

It's more likely for people who are trying to be distinctive while they probably are just run of the mill Joes or Janes.

I suppose she can get a nice butterfly to cover it up? Like they say, "A tattoo is forever. Think before you ink."

My youngest daughter's name is Rose, so I had one put on my left arm to always have a physical reminder of her with me. (Still haven't thought of one for Maureen, tho).

The only tat I have ever considered getting was a black Prancing horse with in a Ferrari yellow field with the proper SF.
But I'm holding out for being the oldest living homo sapien that has never had a tat or a body piercing ;)

Best tats are from prisoners and gangsters around the world.

Since I don't have any contact with anyone from either group, I have to settle for having mine done at a parlor.

There was a time, I thought about getting a leaping cat if Jag won the F1 constructors title. I suppose if Adrian had joined the team then -- as opposed to after it became Red Bull -- I might have one.

Yea' but if you had gotten a Jag the eclectical maintenance alone would have sent you to the poor-house ;)

I like to check girls to see if they got any tramp stamps right above the buttocks.

Says something about the little sweetie...such as yes oh yes or no, i am just dumb and no fun, so you can tell right off if she is going to worth investing in.....

Tattoos can be a form of flag waving, i.e. showing support for one's beliefs, but most often they are a form of- hey, look at me!

I find most of them to be in the same category I used to hold Zubaz, which was not positive.

Tattoos can be removed, most of them. In France the insurance pays for the removal if a doctor certifies that the tattoo has a negative psychological effect on the person wearing it.

Tattoos are trashy and morph into a large, dark blot over the passage of time. Piercings are a sign of a total loon.

Piercings? God love ya if you are into that, I figure if God didn't give me the hole, I am not adding any.

Tattoo's? Great art work can be anywhere, why must it be on skin? People use do it to be edgy or original, but with everyone getting them, Being someone out them is now edgy or unusual.

I find women with tattoo's a little more......what....Are they more easy in my mind? Maybe....I don't like seeing them on one of my nieces. I think she looks cheaper for it, and this is a girl with a degree and a diploma in two disciplines who is working on a third. Yet I saw the tat when she was wearing her workout gear and thought...I am just disappointed.

Call me old school, but I like women to be unmarked by ink. Guys can look like whatever they want, but even then, show me a guy covered in ink, and I show you a guy with too much time on his hands who likes wasting his money....

Bad idea...tramp stamp is a good name, because I see one on a young woman, and I automatically have a lower opinion of her sense of responsibility and priorities...

Some younger girls/women I know used to have them, and they are now gone.
That is a simple process.
Try that with tattoos.

the only body piercings that are fine are on the ear, and maybe 2 tops per ear, not 14 piercings the nose, lip, cheek, tongue are really pretty poor in taste, yet some people wanna be treated with respect while they have them, but you wont get it looking like a freak, tattoos are the same way. same for Tattoos, as long as its not overdone, I dont see a problem, some of my friends have them and see no problem, its not like have barcodes on there necks are anything.

I saw a guy the other with a tattoo on his bald head and face!

Can you imagine the thought process?

'I only get one face in this life. I know, I'll cover it with ink!'
