It's a staggeringly badly written report :s
But yes, a wireless router can act as a bottleneck in an otherwise fast network. I'm on 10Meg broadband and although my crappy B/G router theoretically supports up to 54 Meg, I'm lucky to get 20 in real life. Obviously this doesn't affect my internet access, but it sure makes a difference to shifting media files round the network, so much so that I have hardwired the desktop and telly, and provided CAT5 points where I'd usually have the laptop.

As a tangent, t'internet failed the other day so I used my phone as a hotspot with surprisingly good results. Plus I spent an age on hold to Virgin Media before giving up, but when I Tweeted them I got a reply almost immediately - gotta love modern technology :D

I'm going to be moving to working from home in the near future. The laptop is usually completely fine on the wireless access, but since I'll be spending a lot of time on it I might buy a network cable instead of relying on the wireless.
