I don't know how Tony is going to fit into the McLaren, seriously. :dozey:

They may need a rather large shoe-horn to slip him in :p :
I remember when JPM and Jeff Gordon switched cars several years back.
Gordon said that the first time he really applied the brakes his visor caught the tears that came shooting out of his eyes due to rapid deceleration. He was impressed. :)

Forget Smoke...the important part is there will be a modern F1 car on the Watkins Glen circuit!!!

This is going to be very interesting...a Mclaren at the Glen again. As for Tony Stewart, I predict a healthy diet in the next few months :D

I'm certainly looking forward to this. I hope they set down times in their own rides for comparison, even if no one's really going to be pushing it too hard (though I'd hate to be the guy to tell either of these racers to go easy on it). As a NASCAR fan, I'm thrilled to have talents like Stewart, Gordon, Kyle Busch, and Jimmie Johnson, but as an F1 fan, I can't help but wonder how it would have gone had those guys pursued F1 from their first years racing. I have a feeling they could have done quite well...

I remember that very well, and the comments from both drivers were great. Gordon was openly intimidated by the launch control system, and stated that lifting the gas in the F1 car was like getting on the brakes in the NASCAR car. They also both talked about how with the NASCAR car it was about getting the most out of the car, where as in the F1 car it was about pushing the limits of the driver more.

Here is a video of the two drivers in each other’s cars. I had forgotten how well JPM took to JG's car. He really shredded the Indy road race configuration. I mean he just threw that thing through the turns

IIRC, Smoke lost like 30 lbs recently and has been training extremely hard.

all they need to do is calculate his weight, adjust ballast accordingly so the cars will be at the same weight..................

So only about 150 pounds to go?

I´m not sure Lewis will regret this, Tony on the other hand, or perhaps he can sort out the issues MacLaren have at the moment.
