For those who are behind Loeb now! The situation is not lost, only despaired. Latvala want to score some point and he give up. Ogier is flat out near the Ogier’s explosion syndrome..... ;)

with latvala so close behind ogier team orders are out of the question also....the big afternoon stage is going to decide everything i guess, after that both teams they will prder their drivers to bring the cars home if nothing spectacular happens....

Both Latvala and Petter clueless about why they can´t go any faster. Judging by the live stages shot from helicopter Latvala´s car looks to be a bit more sideways all the time, and if there is some difference powerwise then that´s about it then. Mikko is driving well but then again he doesn´t have the pressure, just enjoying the fast roads.

It's too early !!! I want Citroën to win with one-two but rally is still long anything can still happen, I'll start thinking about possible victory after SS17 if Loeb and Ogier manages to increase gap again :mark:

Yes, Sordo has been better than expected in the first two rallies with MINI, and it looks like it will be 2-0 over Meeke after this one. I have always stated that Meeke is way overrated and I predict that Sordo will beat him on the remaining 4 MINI events aswell.

Petter was 1s/km slower on SS16...maybe a combination of setups and mental stress. He can be much quicker than this.

Dissapointing for ford, wasn't exactly the result I hoped for
If Loeb can win this, he's practically guaranteed 100 points(not including the powerstages) from the 6 rallies that are left including this one...It seems the championship is over already! :o

hirvonen is really fast, i think he´ll become 4th!

wwbroe
30th July 2011, 10:11
Now we will have to wait to see if there will be any team-orders. Also it remains to be seen if, in the case Hirvonen catch-up with Solberg, they will ask JML to let him pass to third to take maximum possible amount of points for championship.

That's a lit bit unfair for Meeke. Sordo was been doing the championship for last four years with a top car, he knows the rally's and he knows turbo cars. As much as I like Sordo I think Meeke is going to be faster next year.

N.O.T
30th July 2011, 10:20
Indeed thats an unfair prediction...in sardinia where meeke had experience of the event as well he was faster until the gas stuck and caused him an off...i think next year the results are going to be safer for both.

René

If Loeb wins this Rally, he will be the first non-Nordic driver to win Finland twice. And perhaps also the first non-Nordic double in the honours list of this Rally. But the way is still long.....Quesnel must be at the edge of depression, we are going to see if he is a real Team Manager or an managed Manager??? Cry baby cry !!!! :) :) :)

Miika
30th July 2011, 10:30
Ogier said before the service that there won´t be any team-orders, we´ll see. Latvala conforming that the Ford is tail-happy everywhere and he has tried to fix it, without any luck.

Sorry I see Hanninen was fastest in the last 5KM stage but in the previous one Meeke was faster so try again.

Still this brings up a questions:

- Are those new WRCars slower on high speed events?
- Or maybe Hänninen, Tänak are very fast drivers?
- Mini too slow?
- Meeke/Sordo too slow drivers?
-Or maybe a mix of everything above?

:)

I think Latvala is out of the game... now only Ogier can put pressure on Loeb, but if Loeb doesn't mistake anything, he is going to win.
Oh right, congratulations to Ford/M-Sport, for not winning neither in their "home soil"... probably this year the only thing they won is the Swedish Rally, 1 round out of 13, great work!

British drivers have done well in comparison to the chances they have been given, only 2 in recent history got a chance with proper teams, both were champions and if Burns wasnt ill in '03 he could have won it too

Meeke is well rated by the people that count, and they dont appear to waste their days posting bs on here ;-)

i'm not so sure. Hirvonen obviously got the speed but he have a tendency to only be fast when he doesn't have a pressure on him.
After the close encounter of the third kind with the three he could drive more relaxed. Had he not hit the tree perhaps
he would have been "The regular Hirvonen".

Congrats to Loeb for reminding to everybody the reason he has 7 world championships.
I couldn t follow all days cause of vacations, but big thanks to Tolis for keeping me informed by mobile and sms.
Also big dissapointments from Finland rally.
Minis are just bit faster than s2000 and not always.Sure they have a lot of work to do if they are serious about wrc.
Impressive Tanak and Ketomaa, but as i saw next days was probably by the clean road.
very good result for Hanninen being calm also when Tanak was faster. They are not a lot of drivers that they can manage something like this.
About Mikko....he is always fast after he f!@# up everything. But this is not getting to be champion.Being in the road while fast is the way.
About Latvala i was waiting to be faster in his home-rally.Too many quotes from ford drivers about no steady rear part of the car.Wondering what they were doing for 4 days...they were extremely happy after their testing.

Its a pitty that championship finished so quickly...

Yes, Sordo has been better than expected in the first two rallies with MINI, and it looks like it will be 2-0 over Meeke after this one. I have always stated that Meeke is way overrated and I predict that Sordo will beat him on the remaining 4 MINI events aswell.

MikeD.. Do a bit of research. Check out Loeb times in 2002.. First time in Finland is WRC car. 6 mins off leader and +1m over Ouninpoha.

http://www.ewrc-results.com/results_mai ... stage=1625 (http://www.ewrc-results.com/results_main.php?event=87&stage=1625)

Ogier.. 2009.. First time in WRC car ... Leustu..
http://www.ewrc-results.com/results_mai ... stage=6785 (http://www.ewrc-results.com/results_main.php?event=396&stage=6785)

Finished +4min off lead

Meeke got within 0.5s/km off Hirvonen (fastest man) on new stages yesterday evening, when he was flat out.

Sordo set some good times today, on stages to know

Armchair critics that can even be bothered to some research.

Conclusion is that Meeke seemed keen to get the the finish of the rally, and the mini still needs some work, but has sound principles.

Germany will be better for Mini. We know how tight Sordo pushed Loeb, and Meeke has good pace there.

Given that Ford is not even committed to next year, I can't imagine they have contracts with drivers!
As far as I know Ford are committed to 2012, with Mikko and Jari-Matti. Ford are due in the autumn to make the decision whether to extend their involvement beyond 2012.
