Hey all, just read that Bernie is considering a new points system. (again!). I'm pretty sure he was behind the current structure 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 which if its true that he wants to change it again its clearer than ever that the 2 point gap between 1st and 2nd was a knee jerk reaction to Ferrari dominance.

Anyway the rights and wrongs of the current system are in the past. What would be your favoured system? Personally I feel a three point gap between 1st and 2nd is about right. I also think its very confusing for joe public when for example Spyker beat super aguri for 10th place overall on count back of best non-point placing so I would run points down to 10th place to give the little guys a chance.

So I like 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 and perhaps a point for fastest lap.

Sonic :)

And if you read through the previous thread well, you may need okaying my points system because what you like is exactly like mine :)

10 places will appreciate more to the slower car scoring point, don't forget aside of always interesting to watch cars competing at the front, watching midfield cars in parity doesn't seem less interesting than those at the front.

As for rewarding point to the fastest, this parameter is very much qualitative wise, You can't judge the winner of this category in naked eyes.

So, adopting 10 places points and add more gap to the race winner point, i think it would be considered as something step ahead.
