Indeed, good Q :)

North: Rovaniemi, Finland
South: Sydney, Australia
East: I'm guessing Imatra, Finland. I've been just inside Italy, past the southern border of France (near Monaco), but I think Imatra is further East longitudinaly.
West: I've travelled westward to Xi'an, China, but that's crossing the international date line, so technically, that's east of where I live ('bout the same distance as the crow flies either way  ). The furthest West I've been without crossing the date line would be Kuaui, Hawaii.

From Canberra:

North: Galilivare, Malmberget, Sjaunja Nature Reserve in Sweden

South: Bluff just south of Invercargill in New Zealand

West: Essaouira in Morocco

East: Willemstad (Curacao) in what was then Netherlands Antilles, but that was on a passenger ship from Sydney to Southampton in 1976 and we went to Auckland, Tahiti, Panama and Cuacao. We were meant to stop in the Azores but unfortunately didn't.

Eki I'm jealous, I want to go to Longyearbyen, you didn't by any chance happen to bring back a license/number plate, did you?

Places I still want to go are Teirra Del Fuego, the 'stans in Central Asia, Southern Africa, Burma (now that Aung San Suu Kyi has been released), Laos, Cambodia, the Koreas, loads more of Canada, Russia in particular Siberia and Kaliningrad, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Slovakia and countires of the former Yugoslavia and so on, too many places, not enough time! Oh I forgot the Baltic states..................................... Up the Norwegian coast to Nordcap after going through Hell Whoops, sorry I got side tracked.

Sounds like my Dad. :D He would have been perfectly content to never leave the US, but his kids wouldn't let him. :p First my sister's husband was stationed in Germany and the first grandchild was born over there, so he had to go to Europe, then I decided to marry that Mexican girl in Mexico so he had to go there too! :)
