against the best keeper in the world.

edit:
I had also posted that Juve 1-0 Sassuolo....so you barely beat them :p:

well, currently the best keeper no doubt according to most people watching football regularly. Sure Buffon was in the same category in the past too. I would add Courtois from current keepers.

He is practically a keeper + sweeper. Neuer I mean...that save where he ran out and kicked the ball away from Neymar would have been a goal with most other 'static' keepers.

pino
7th May 2015, 11:15
against the best keeper in the world.

According to who ?

pino
7th May 2015, 11:38
Neuter has a lot of work to reach the level of the best Buffon !. Gigi's 37 now, and is still among the best 5 keepers in the World . As for Courtois, he will never reach that level...

odykas
8th May 2015, 00:06
Neuer is not just a keeper but also a defender.
That's really important when your defence is crap.

Storm
8th May 2015, 08:05
Courtois is only 22, how do you know he won't reach that level?

Can't see he will be better than he's now. My personal feelings!

steveaki13
8th May 2015, 21:09
Not sure who I think is the best keeper around at the moment.

I rate Buffon, Courtois, Neuer as certainly the amongst the best.

Hard call.

I believe that was the first match since 2006 or something that Barca had less possession.

Anyone know much about this Spanish league being postponed? I mean does the season get written off or are Barca given the throphy? (If they are on top) or will the season be finished anyway

Eto'o wasn't good enough for them (sent out on loan and then sold to Mallorca) and see what he did later on in his career.
Rodriguez was basically a hasty buy considering he just had a great world cup. But the price paid was silly, just to keep away premier league teams. We all know that some people play better for their countries, especially w-cups.
Also now it seems Benzema will be sold (like Higuain) while Bale or Ronaldo should be the one on his way and make some money while they can from these investments. Ancellotti would be out in a couple of weeks too. Zidane in I think.

#Rogersout?

This was a match of apathy.

Henderson, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lallana... er... one of those is a striker? Who?

Liverpool played a 4-6-0 which confused the hell out of everyone including themselves. This was played with all the hurriedness of a dead rubber. I bet half the squad was already in the pub before the end of the match and the XI who were out on the pitch, wished they were.

Disaster? Hardly. This match mattered not.

Chelsea 1 - Sydney FC 0

Loic Remy's bullet past Vedran Janjetović in the 20th minute was the only goal in the match and Chelsea found themselves late in the second half, with a team of kids trying to hold out another team of kids; all trying to prove themselves and break into the first XI.

The fact that Sydney had two goals disallowed is pretty good reason why even in a friendly, The Special One was positively fuming. I think that he expected the English Champions to run roughshod over a dinky little team from the colonies who only two days before had lost 1-0 to Spurs. Mourinho is a cranky man; even on holiday.

Given the limited role Alexis had at Barca it's quite amusing that their fans think they actually can assess his quality! The difference for Alexis now is that the team is passing to him, rather than the anointed one. Of course he has far more opportunity to shine with the ball than without it. That Barcelona preferred Suarez to Sanchez says much about the balance between ambition and ethics / sportsmanship. I am personally relieved that Arsenal failed (if they were ever serious) in the attempt to sign Suarez.

Over his seasons at Barcelona, he played a large amount of games.

He was a key member to Barca's front 3 for 2 seasons. Villa-Messi-Sanchez then Neymar-Messi-Sanchez

Thats not that limited.

Storm
4th June 2015, 06:49
Limited role?
Mintex, during his 3 seasons at Barca, he practically played every game. Barca fans like me will always remember him fondly (especially for his great goal in the clasico) an his hardwork at all times, but all of us also saw his lack of quality in terms of finishing chances - especially when compared to Messi or Villa or Pedro during that period.

Yes sure, he has a bigger role at Arsenal but he was never a bit part player at Barca. You can't be just passing to Messi and still get 20 La Liga goals which he got lseason before last. Infact during that year Messi was out for 2 months so Barca completely depended on Alexis and Neymar to score goals. He wore the famous #9 as well. Not so limited then.

I can also say that it is amusing that Arsenal fans can assess his quality after just one (although great) season. Plenty of people have had a good season and then not so good which is also what happened to him in Barcelona btw.

Perhaps you meant the freedom to roam and dictate play - on the pitch? Well he mostly played on one side of the front 3 or as a central striker but Messi obviously had complete freedom of movement, but then you cannot have everybody with the same tactical role can you?

As for Suarez, well no way can I condone his behaviour in the past but he has been very good in the red and blue shirt, and do you really believe that Arsenal would not have signed him if they could have? Just for upholding ethics and sportsmanship?

Brown, Jon Brow

I think certain players suit different leagues style of play better than others.
Sanchez has adapted well to the premier league, where Falcao has struggled.

Storm
4th June 2015, 09:53
Looks like Falcao will have another shot at it with Chelsea?
Also Falcao was coming back from a bad injury directly into the premier league, perhaps that played a part.

Would this be the same Italy who failed to escape the group stage in Brazil?

Belgium were knocked out in Brazil by the side that would go on to lose the final. They also made a clean sweep of Group H.
In the qualifiers for Euro 2016, the currently top Group B.

In fact, discarding friendlies which don't count towards FIFA rankings, Belgium have only lost four matches going back to 2012 and two of those were to Germany. In the same period, Italy have lost eight.
